  2. Okay, so I did some more searching for solutions and found that one of the admins recommends VundoFix.exe, and despite trying to use FixVundo.exe earlier to no avail, I decided to try this one. No dice. It found some files, which I promptly deleted, but then a new scan using Ad-aware found a bunch of new malware files (which I deleted), and then another scan using Symantec AntiVirus produced even more new malware files. I'm at a complete loss. Help?
  3. Symptoms: - Random internet explorer pop-ups advertising a variety of different things. A common one is WinAntivirus 2007... ironic. - Overall sluggish performance for the entire computer, which only started once these pop-ups started coming. - Internet explorer will spontaneously quit, and it's always followed by Symantec Auto-protect detecting a new problem. I've run ad-aware SE with a current definition file and it finds a lot of registry values and other bad files, which I delete, but they just keep coming back. I've also run Symantec Antivirus (also up-to-date) on numerous occasions and it finds "Infostealer" and "Trojan.Vundo" files, which I also tell it to delete, but those keep returning as well. I ran a program from Symantec called FixVundo.exe and when I ran it, it said it didn't even find any files to fix (I did all the stuff that Symantec told me to, disconnected the internet, disabled system restore, etc.), so I ran it again while my comp was in safe mode and got the same result. I'm running Windows XP Home Edition, and I just downloaded HijackThis 1.99 so if you need a log then I can post it. Can anyone help me?
