  1. Why does Adwatch literally take from 5-10 minutes to load on my computer's start up ?
  2. Try to reinstall your Ad-Aware 2007 Pro. I have deleted and reinstalled my AdAware 2007 Plus at least half a dozen times. Each time it seems to correct problems I was having . Anyways best of luck to you .
  3. They will reply. I received help from them within 2 or 3 days after sending an e mail with the problem I was having.
  4. It took 7 months but I was finally able to register. So for the rest of you out there don't give up. I got help within 48 hours from the staff at Lavasoft once they were made aware of my problem. They issued me a new serial number since my old one was not being recognized for some reason.
  5. Attempting to register or to upgrade always gets me the following message ""Serial Number entered appeared invalid " despite my having a valid serial number and hardware fingerprint. I think that I am registered never the less however I cannot upgrade if i wanted to because of this .
  6. If you check you'll find that 99% of the time it's Internet Explorer or what ever other browser you use that AdWatch is reporting making these (normal ) changes.
  7. For some reason I find that every time I reinstall adaware 2007 it seems to work better. Why would that be so ? Every time I reinstall it seems to work out some "bugs" from the previous installation.
  8. What exactly is RegShield and where or who is attempting all these changes to my computer that AdWatch has detected 768 so far ? This detection has only started since I reinstalled AdAware and AdWatch began to function properly after that.
  9. I just checked and ad watch is actually blocking cookies now that I have re installed whereas before it wasn't.
  10. Try reinstalling ad aware if you are having any problems. I know it has worked for me on a number of problems I have encountered such as not being able to update new available software .You have to stop running ad aware first before being able to download. I have had to re install numerous times to fix "bugs" that I have encountered, try it, you won't be sorry, it worked for me . Go to start -execute- type services.msc then click on stop AAW services BEFORE you attempt to re install or otherwise the re installation will fail.
  11. What is the difference between a "definitions file update" ( which I can do ) and a "software update" which doesn't happen when I click on "yes," that I want to go to the software update for ad aware 2007 plus ?
  12. When it says that "new software is available, do you want to go to the download page" I click on "Yes" and nothing happens ?
  13. What is the difference between Definitions File Update ( which I can do ) and Software Updates (which I can't do ) ?
  14. The company that I called used knob32 (I think that's the name) to scan and remove this virus. I wonder why it is better than McAfee which I have ? It cost me $63 but after staying up till 4:00 am in the morning trying to remove this virus I was desperate and just wanted it (virusprotectpro) gone. I even signed up with Spyhunter ( bad move ) to try and remove it ( which it didn't ).
  15. This is a horrible, horrible virus and very stubborn as well. It cost me $63 to have a company remove it for me by remote access to my computer !
  16. Windows will not allow me to open the updatemanager file Is there any other way of updating the new software ?
  17. AdAware & AdWatch might still be working somehow without us knowing it because doing a McAfee scan reveals that I have no cookies. Could this be the work of AdAware somehow ? One more irritating thing is that it says that new software is available and asks if I want to download it, I click "yes" and nothing happens. So where can I see the new software updates available to download ?
  18. Ad Watch is still not blocking cookies, only reg shield is working. After it says that file definitions are up to date it asks if I want to download new software, I click on yes and then nothing happens .
  19. Yes it works. I was able to reinstall AAW following your instructions, thank-you. However now I have a new problem. I can update the definitions files but it also says "There are new software updates available. Would you like to go to the download location ? I click on "Yes" but nothing happens . Finally the biggest bug of all, AdWatch is NOT blocking any cookies for me !!!!!!!
  20. I wanted to reinstall AdAware 2007 Plus to see if it might help to get AdWatch to work properly (it is not stopping cookies for me). I was not able to go through with this because I kept getting the message that "another application has access to the file Please shut down " Then I attempted to delete AdAware from my computer but was unable to do that as well because I kept getting the message that "it" was being used and had to be shutdown first. So basically what I am saying is that I found it impossible to uninstall AdAware 2007 Plus form my computer to be able to reinstall it. I am basically going to give up on this issue of getting AdWatch to block cookies for me. I'll wait till next year to see if an update comes along to fix this issue by then. If it is not fixed by next year then I will not purchase it again because the ONLY difference between the paid version and free version is "AdWatch". Since I do have the AdWatch icon but it is not blocking cookies I basically have paid for the free version. I guess the money I paid was a contribution towards the free version. Lavasoft got me once but shame on them, if I pay again next year then shame on me for not learning my lesson. At one point "AdWatch" was working because it was showing numbers on cookies blocked and then it just stopped working for some reason for me.
  21. Well don't worry it's not working with Windows XP either not just Vista. It is no longer blocking cookies, has to be opened manually and I have no idea what the registry chances are that it is asking to allow or block are , so I set it on automatic allow. Basically this Plus version is now doing NOTHING ! It blocked cookies for a while but for some reason stopped doing so, so it must have a mind of its own .I can only hope that one day an upgrade will come along that can fix these problems so that it won't be a complete waste of money having purchased the "Plus" version . If these problems can be fixed then I would consider purchasing again next year the Plus version. So Lavasoft has an incentive to get working and fix these problems !
  22. Another issue now is the registry change notifications. I don't even know what they are so how can I decide to allow or block each one ? I have now set it on automatic allow .
  23. AdWatch is NOT blocking cookies no matter that I turned track sweep off or on. It used to block cookies but for some unknown reason it is no longer blocking cookies for anyone as I can tell by reading the posts. Lavasoft please fix this for all your paying customers who purchased the paid version like I did.
