1. First thing to do is always set the BIOS time and date after a battery failure. If that is not done it can cause you a lot of grief. Programs may show as expired whereas in reality they are still valid. As regards to Ad-Aware I am unable to help you as I do not use it. I have included a link for you that may help you. http://www.google.com.au/#hl=en&source...150&bih=507
2. Not sure but try this link and see what happens. http://www.lavasoft.com/mylavasoft/support...contact_support
3. Thanks for informing me. Did my link help you? I will have to replace it if it is no longer valid.
4. Use the link in my reply to contact Lavasoft Support.
5. I think my signature has a link in it to contact support. Just checked and it has. There may be a delay in reply as it is vacation time in Europe.
6.
Does anyone know how I can stop the free version of Ad-Aware from starting with Windows? I already have two anti-virus packages installed and want to use Ad-Aware only to scan my system from time to time. I have checked the Windows Registry to see if the autostart can be disabled, but had no luck in finding anything obvious. Thanks.
"Winpatrol" will let you disable or delay any software package to start up when Windows starts up. You should also not be running more than anti virus program on your PC as you will get conflicts and they will slow your PC down in speed.
7. Download a program "Winpatrol". It has an option to set programs on delay. It is a free piece of software.
8. Yes, get 2 by 1 Gigabyte chips at 400 MHz. Go and find your friendly PC guru and ask him/her to remove the present RAM and install the new ones for you (just tell him/her they were a present). It should not cost you too much. You will be amazed the difference more RAM does for your PC.
9. No, that link does NOT recognize your PC. It is just a link I found. You will need an ESD wrist strap so you don't zap your new memory chips. They are quite cheap to purchase and should have instructions with it. In regards to the memory chips the 333 and 400 is the speed. If you have one of each your RAM will run at the lower speed.
10. You can increase you RAM to 4 Gigabytes if you wish but I would settle for 2 Gigabytes. Refer to link: http://www.memoryupgrade.pro/dimension-4600.html Here are specifications of your PC. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/syst...00/sm/specs.htm And the service manual. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/syst...0i/sm/index.htm Now to save paper if you do not wish to print here is a program I use 'CutePDF'. It will create a PDF file from which you can then print to your printer by page numbers. http://www.cutepdf.com/ Ensure you download the FREE version. That will keep you busy for a while.
11. Install a program named Belarc Advisor. It will tell everything you wish to know about your PC. Just keep the output file private as it also shows software activation keys. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
12. @ jason jiang. Please accept my apologies for my mistake. I have not been receiving any emails from Lavasoft Forum when you posted back in the forum. Hence my deadly silence.
13. Obviously you bought a pirated copy. Always buy software from the original software manufacturer - in this case Lavasoft. I have just looked at the site and it was marked as 560 Yen reduced to 98 Yen. 98 Yen is $1.19 US.
14. Send email to support at lavasoft dot com for help.
15. Send an email to support at lavasoft dot com with all relevant details you still have.

17. See the link. I think you must have Windows 2000 or higher. http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_...php?t=techspecs
18. Send an email to 'support at lavasoft dot com' and quote all the details you have pertaining to your purchase.
19. Please be patient as it am Sunday 22 August in Europe. I am sure your question will be answered as soon as possible.
20. Might sound stupid but are you registered in that link?
21. Right click on image you wish to open. Then select 'Open with' and 'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer' should be in the drop down list. It will also ask if you wish to use this all the time. If so, click the YES box.
22. This may sound like stupid question. Why are you running XP SP1 when you should be at XP SP3? You are leaving yourself wide open to viruses, Trojans and other nasties which could infect your system. If you are on dial-up connection contact M$ and they will send you the upgrades for free as the updates are quite large.
23. From what you describe you have picked up a virus or a very nasty Trojan of some sort. I am unable to help you here but do you run an anti virus program and do you have a firewall installed and I am not talking about the firewall which is part of M$. Suggest you supply more details regards to O/S, anti virus and firewall installed. Please advise.
