  1. I got the Serial number to work!! I read another posting by someone who had the same issue and solved it by closing their web accelerator. I closed my accelerator and my Serial number registered. Before totally giving up, close firewalls AND accelerators before submitting the Serial Number. It worked for me!!
  2. After two weeks of no help, I finally got the Serial number to work. You must close your firewall AND turn off your web accelerator before you send it. If you use an accelerator, you can't get it to register unless it's off.
  3. I just read a response by Rayal on another thread who solved the invalid Serial Number problem by turning off both the firewall AND his web accelerator. I tried it and it worked!! After two weeks of emails to Support with no real attention, I got my answer from a subscriber's forum response. I hope everyone that has been suffering with this problem reads this. I'll bet that it's our failure to know about the need to stop our web accelerators that has caused so much failure and distress for so many. Good luck!
  4. Looks like they decided to move our thread complaining about non-working Serial numbers. I guess the best way to stop the posting of complaints is to get rid of the complaint postings. After two weeks of waiting and receiving of two Invalid Serial numbers, I've just given up. There has been no real attempt from Support to address our problem. To get your credit card to refund your Ad-Aware purchase, you need to print and mail a form (available from the card's website) that disputes the charge. If you decided not to stick it out and you give up hoping for a resolution, disputing the charge is your only option. I'm out of here. Good luck guys!
  5. I did just receive an email from Support with a new Serial number. I typed it in exactly and closed all firewalls, but this one was also Invalid. What is wrong?? What a mess!! I just sent them this message: "This is the second Serial number that you have sent me that comes back Invalid. The Serial numbers just don't work. You sent me an email that said that because the Serial numbers don't work, you would send me an Unlock key. Instead, I just received another non-working Serial number. Please send the Unlock key that you promised so that we can see if that will work." The Registration problem is far from resolved.
  6. Instead of the Unlock key that they promised to fix my Serial number problem, they sent me another Serial number. Guess what - "Serial Number appears Invaid" What is wrong with these guys??   7. Just when I had printed my credit card charge dispute and was ready to mail it, I got an email from Support. It said that, if I replied to their email with my hardware imprint, they would send an Unlock Key for my machine. I was really hoping to report a success to you guys . No luck. I returned the hardware information to them two days ago and NOTHING!! No acknowledgement of my returned email and, of course, no unlock key. Like you - still waiting ..........
  8. It's, now, been five days with no reponse from Support. It appears that they have just abandoned all of us who sent them money and were sent invalid Serial numbers.
  9. Wow. It looks like when you place your order, they note the identity of the computer from where the order was sent and the Serial number will only work on that computer. Since you cleaned everything and started over without success, they have locked your Serial number to your friend's computer and my work computer at work. Buyers should definitely be warned of this! Without any help from their Support, it looks like we've just lost our subcription. Hopefully, they'll evetually read our posts and do something. I'll wait 'till Monday, then reverse the subcription charges on my credit card, and go shopping.
  10. I, too, am ready to get another program. A number of us have paid and the Serial numbers that were sent to us are Invalid. All we get from Support is the same form letter of installation instructions over and over with no attention to our real problems. Several of us are shortly going to reverse our credit card charges and leave. What other programs have you found that would be a good alternative to Ad-Aware Plus?
  11. No. Those instructions do not help. I have recieved and appied exactly them several times and it always comes back Invalid. It seems that this is a real issue with a large number of subscibers. I can't understand why Lavasoft doesn't want to help us with any thing other than the standard instructions. At least in our cases, they clearly don't work. We need some personal attention to get this resolved. Although, I bought the subscription for my home computer, I sent my credit card purchase from the computer at work. Could it be that Lavasoft will only recognize the computer from where the money was sent?
  12. You shouldn't need a lawsuit, just a call to your credit card. If this isn't cleared up in a couple of days, I'm planning to call my credit card and deny the charge. Usually, all the card company needs to reverse the charge is some documentation of your purchase and a written explaination of the company's failure to deliver what you purchased. Let's hope for Lavasoft finally steps up and takes care of this.
  13. I wish you luck. I have a similar problem with Serial number as Invalid and have contacted Customer support several times over the past week. As of yet, no reponse. In frustration, I asked for my money back. Still, no response.
  14. Last week I purchased the new Ad-Aware Plus 2007 and was sent a Serial number to activate the account. When entered, it always comes back Invalid. I have tried uninstalling and downloading the program = Serial Number Invalid. I have written to Support several times concerning this. The only thing I receive is are standard emails descibing the proceedure for Registering. Yesterday, I requested a return of my subscription money - No Response. Your program does not register and you refuse to respond to my requests for help. Have I just lost the money sent to you?
