  1. I have a paid suscription, my adaware AE quit working, got error it was shut down wrong, at same time I could not install windows updates for netframework 1, AE I cannot uninstall to reinstall. I have ticket into MS regarding getting their update fixed. Also where is the new chat help button, I can't find it. Lil chief
  2. Had to remove Paid version of Adaware Anniv Plus, now reinstalling and was directed to Cnet for the DL, why is this? I logged in with my ID and password, there used to be a screen that pointed out my downloads, now its gone. Ok, now had to contact element 5, put in my reg. # on paid subscription, so now I have no idea, this should be a paid version Is this affecting my paid download being directed to Cnet? Is my paid version of Adaware Anniv Ed Plus now free? Does not make sense to me. Network lite is not off. Advise, thanks
  3. Yes i have paid version of Adaware 2008 and the Firewall, I clikc on support and get back to this forum. I just don't know anymore.
  4. Past 3 days having trouble with windows live mail, took long to load it, then screen was breaking up, previous this week I downloaded AE having had Adaware 2008, uninstalled AE, running AVG free now. Windows XP3, I use IE7 and Windows live mail,, (used to use Outlook Express but MS says its Windows Live Mail now and thats that) So I suscribe to MSN premium, I log on to MSN, loads mail but cannot view it right, I go to Hotmail, cannot view, you can see the heading of email but no preview, you click on the email its takes 2 min to get it, then you have to open with notepad, or html file, you get no views Windows live mail is email support so i contact them, they tell me to DL new version, I had already done that last night but the version # was different, so I go to DL again, tells me I already have it.^&*( So now I guess I will call MSN now being there email is not working also, everyone is passing the buck here, called HP no help, they are telling me file.ext is a virus, scanned with Adaware, Windows Defender and now AVG (still running). HP is suppossed to call me back around now, will they? who knows? I have the feeling I better back up a few things because I am going to have to do a clean install with my disks or the quick thing that HP helps you with. MS has been terrible, I got support in India, only to get to someone and their phones are all static, and can I call back. This is horrible, horrible, and nobody is here to check my hijack log or adivse on anything, what a world we live in
  5. I have posted in hijack this area. file.ext is on desktop, please read my post in hijack this. Thanks lilchief
  6. The network option will not click to on, so is it supposed to? Or does not come with AE?
  7. Last week my computer started acting up, I assumed it was the install of the AE which I had Adaware 2008 prev. past 2 days windows live mail does not work, I contacted Windows Live, they say to call back in 3 hrs they are working on somethiing, I called HP they say its a virus, I have an item on my desktop file.ext which HP says has to be removed by Norton, or other program, I ask why not Lavasoft ? or Avg Hp does not think so, so I am at a loss, here is my HIjack this log. Adaware scan was done earlier today, MS had me scan with there safety.live, com which is one care, found registry errors 257 something like that with 1 unremovable file. so I don't know what file.ext is, I am afraid to shut off the computer, it keep running loud like it is scanning. 8. Hi, and hi to casey boy and calamity I have the paid Adaware and updated to the Anniv edition, also lavasoft firewall So now my pictures from ebay items I am watching are belng blocked, I also noticed the few times I go to yahoo to forums I get blocked, I know ebay no doubt has some ad sites, but I have to see my watched items in email without having to click on the picture. In the old ad watch or adaware their was a spot you enter to allow a site, if its there I cannot find it. I am running XP with XP3 update, windows defender is off and a dsl line. by the way, looking at some other posts, i have noticed my windows live messenger has been getting disconnected. Help, thanks in advance lilchief
  9. I have the Firewall and Adaware 2007 which the Adaware I was able to update to the 2008 version of Plus. So now I see these new products, file shredder, digital protection, one with a backup of sysyem These all sound good, especially the backup, but to go in and purchase them now would make no sense until my expiration, which i think when you are near expiration you get a better offer for the other products. As I read somewhere on microsoft about new programs looking at your registry is not a good idea, so if I do a backup, then run the disk defrag and cleanup isn't this the same thing or not? So I assume I have to wait until then to get the products I want in a bundle price?
  10. While this update was performing, the firewall gave alert about changing a file size, it had a block to check do not show this message again, I just hit the X button on the right top, then got the alert again, so I checked the box at the bottom left. So now I was unsure if I got the entire XP3 updates, so i went to the update center had it do its check & had to download something else, isn't there somewhere to allow microsoft updates? I never had this before other than with the XP3 upgrade or update. Now I wonder what if something else other than MS is trying to get to a file, did i screw this up Thanks in advance Guess I can't do the color font?
  11. have a daily scan set up to start on Mondays, it will not delete, says cannot do delete, tried to delete the weekly scan will not delete this either. Had read somehwere awhile back I can go into the folder somewhere and delete the scheduler but where is it? I just want a smart scan weekly and a full scan monthly. I am up to date with MS XP3 updates, I have a paid subscription thanks in advance
  12. I was using the automatic scans, then looking at the results, infections, infections removed, lots of infections listed, but only some listed as removed ? AVG had listed some kind of bot it found, so i clicked to repair, but why wasn't this in adwatch results. with Adwatch or Adaware which part of the program is the virus protection? All the things listed in the menu? Are these virus's caught with Adwatch or Adaware? This gets very confusing, as AVG has a big red warning that it found something, with Adaware/Adwatch I see the regular list of tac ratings, mru's and i forget the 1 other item. I am used to hearing the bug sound when it finds something, but it made that sound anyway before with prev. versions, how about a sound for a virus? I don't understand all of this, with my crazy error of screwing up scheduled scans, like a smart scan and a full scan going on everyday for about 3 weeks, anything bot thing should of been found. Thanks in advance Anyway i have changed my scan schedule.
  13. i had this problem also, so i uninstalled adaware and reinstalled it, I would highlite it but it would not let me delete it, why? Can't it be easy?
