If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, I would appreciate you letting us know.. If not please perform the following below so I can have a look at the current condition of your machine. Thanks and again sorry for the delay. Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save to your Desktop. alternate download site DSS will do the following: Create a new System Restore point in Windows XP and Vista. Clean your Temporary Files, Downloaded Program Files, Internet Cache Files, and empty the Recycle Bin on all drives. Check some important areas of your system and produce a report for me to analyze. Automatically run HijackThis. It will also install and place a shortcut to HijackThis on your desktop if you do not already have it installed. So if HijackThis is not installed and DSS prompts you to download it, please answer yes. You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges when using. 23. Hello taffy078, This could just be plain and simple SPAM, but it could also be something larger perhaps. If you like I can take a look at your computer for any malware related problems, though? If you would like that, please follow this next set of instructions. Click here to download HJTInstall.exe Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop. Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis . Click on Install. It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop. Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis. Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log. Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply. DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
