Auch in der IT-Branche ist ja Englisch mittlerweile "state of the art".
  2. I can confirm that. I first had also a "scan freeze", but when I de-activated the background-guard-function of my anti-virus-software (AVK 2007) afterwards the smart scan worked properly. Greetings Axel
  3. Hello, in this forum, there are at least already three other threads concerning the same problem. Try to look there for more hints. Greetings Axel
  4. Hi there all, there are already to other threads dealing the same problem (look under topic "scan freezes"). What might help, is to de-activate other programs such as fire-walls or anti-virus-programs. I got the same problem, too, but when I de-activated the background-guard-function of my anti-virus-program then smart scan of ad-aware worked properly. Good luck and greetings Axel
  5. I think I fixed the problem: I de-activated my anti-virus-program (the guard-function which works in the background). Then the smart scan ran without any problems. I think it often happens, that one security tool doesn't work properly if another tool is activated (fire-wall, anti-virus-programs...) But I must add, that the previous version (SE) did work properly also when my anti-virus-program ran in the background... For further information: I use Windows 2000 Pro with SP4 and AntiVirenKit from GData. Greetings Axel

  7. There's already another thread dealing with the same problem. Look at the topic "scan freezes". Might be useful if further answers could be placed in that thread. Greetings Axel
  8. same happened to me today... Few days ago, I installed Adaware 2007 and the "smart scan" also freezed on my computer (I use Win2K with SP4). I only could stop the program using the task manager. According to other threads in this forum, it seems that the new version of ad-aware causes trouble to many other users. I'm curious how Lavasoft will manage to solve that problem, and I hope they'll do it soon... I used Ad-Aware SE (free version) a very long time and never had any problems and so have been very content with it. Nevertheless, a Happy New Year to each of the users in this forum :-) Greetings, Axel from Karlsruhe/Germany
