  1. Nope, it didn't work. I still have that virus and fake pop-up warnings in my parents computer.
  2. Hi all. Asking for help again. Trying to remove Ultimate Cleaner from my parents' PC. After doing a search on this site, I don't know if this is similar to Ultimate Defender, so I'm making a new topic. Problem: (Fake) Popups warned my dad that the computer is infected and to "click here" to remove it. The link leads to "UltimateCleaner.com" website for purchase. From then on the default page reverts to that website. I'm was unable to remove it. I used AVG, Ad-Aware, and SmitraudFix to scan and remove accordingly and in safe mode. I was able to remove most of it but there still seems to be some residual adware. For example, when I search for a subject in Google and click on one of Google's results, the link redirects me to some (semi-adult) site. I'm able to use Google or Yahoo as a default homepage now, but clicking on the links to the results sometimes lead me to unwanted websites. Here is my Hijackthis log attachment. I hope this works. I'm not sure what part of the log is fishy. Any advice appreciated. Thank you in advance. Buta. hijackthislog.txt
  3. Windows XP Media Center - not 64bit ver. Only got Adaware 2007 Plus version 7.0.2.5 running If I uninstall, DL the latest version and then reinstall, will I lose my one-year license for AAW PLUS?
  4. I encountered another problem after scanning for my first time. After 15 minutes or so through the scanning process the computer freezes. I can't use the mouse, keyboard, not even CTRL ALT DEL buttons. The only way to get my computer up and running again is to reboot. Reboot meaning holding the power button down till it shuts off, pressing the button again to turn it on. I tried scanning a few more times and the same thing happens. Computer locks up. Any remedy to this? buta
  5. After two months of errors trying to get AAW2007 to work, I was finally able to register AAW2007 PLUS today. I purchased a 12 month license back in August, but when I look at the expiration date, it says EXPIRES in 289 days. What happened to 365 days? Why did I NOT get the full 12 months when after registering it? I think this is completely unfair. I should receive the full 1-year of protection. How can you correct this problem? The expiration date should expire accordingly from the date it was REGISTERED, not from when it was purchased. buta
  6. I take it that LAVASOFT or ELEMENT 5 isn't even considering refunds? I haven't heard from either of them. Question to the LS crew: I received my 1 year license for 2007Plus a while back, but I can't even get AAW2007 started to enter the serial number. How long is this unused serial number valid for? And why don't you offer refunds?
  7. I bought 2007 Plus too and couldn't even register it. First, I asked for help and got little help from Tech Support Then I asked for a refund and got NO response at all. If this continues, people are going to think it's a scam. I want my money back.
  8. GOLDFISHGIRL: I highly suggest you stick with your SE Plus and do not upgrade yet because AAW 2007 is plagued with problems. SE is working just fine.
  9. Looks like there is NO FIX. I haven't heard from them in a while. At least you didn't pay for it. I can't even get a refund from them.
  10. I've asked them on how to get a refund about 2-3 times via their support e-mail, but they did not respond to it. They only replied with "how to" install and register AAW2007. No matter how I tried - it still didn't work. By the way, their website does not have a FAQ on refunds nor any support that mentions refunds. HAS ANYONE EVEN RECEIVED A REFUND FROM THEM?
  11. And HERE as well. Can I get a refund since I paid for mine already?
  12. Yes, I get it every time I start. I have no choice but to click on "OK" on the 6000 error, then the window closes along with the Adaware 2007 window. I was running Trend-Micro security, but disabled it before I tried Adaware. I followed your instructions above. It did not work. So I attempted to uninstall and install again. Here is a step-by-step of ERRORS. 1) Installed Adaware 2007. Toward the end of installation, I got this error. 2) I clicked on "finish" to complete the installation, ignoring the error. Then the Adaware window appears briefly (as you can see in the picture). Then the the two ERROR windows show up over it. I must click "OK", but clicking OK will close the Adaware window, too. 3) I did Run: Services.msc, clicked on stop and got a script error. 4) I attempted to open Adaware 2007 by clicking the icon on the desktop, but I continually get the 6000 and 1814 errors. It's very frustrating... How do I get a refund? Buta
  13. I tried to uninstall/ install but that didn't help. It looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. Since I purchased mine, do I get my money back if I'm still unable to register AAW2007 Plus? (Where are you Calamity Jane?!)
  14. Hi, I just purchased AAW2007 Plus and entered the serial number I received from email. It then searched for the unlock key and then I got a 6000 error ( the middle picture in the attachment screenshot). Then it closed itself so I'm unable to pull up the license info window again. So I attempt to Open AAW2007 by clicking the icon on the desktop and then I receive a Microsoft error (top picture of attachment screenshot) along with with 6000 error immediately after. AAW2007 opens briefly but closes again after clicking OK on the errors. I'm unable to register again. I ask for advice on how to register. I have Windows XP.
  15. Hi Calamity Jane. I just recently encountered this "Zonebac" Trojan and I'm unable to remove it. After searching through Lavasoft forums I found this message and thought I'd use this thread. I scanned with AVG Antispyware and Adaware and came up with nothing, but Symantec keeps displaying this Zonebac Trojan and even gave me the location below. C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel\atiptaxx.exe I tried to delete it but a "access denied" window pops up. With this trojan in the background I'm receiving all kinds of pop-up ads every minute! Please help! Here is my Hijack This Log. It's rather long. Any advice appreciated. **update** along with Zonebac Trojan, I also have a Duntek Trojan locate in Windows/System32 that I'm also unable to delete.
