  3. Hello bobov If you open Ad-Aware, is the Ad-Watch icon in red? If so, the Ad-Watch driver is installed and working. If not, let me know and I will tell you how to install it manually. Thanks Jeff

What I am thinking is, because your font size is high you cannot see the cursor when you click in that box.   6. Hello LavaJ431 We have been trying to reproduce this with the latest version of Ad-Aware and "Everything" but with no success...   9. Hello Burris The tray icon disappears during the update when Ad-Aware needs to restart, which is almost always required during an update. So, you are correct, you do not have active protection for that that. Which is why you should perform the occasional scan to make certain nothing has slipped by. Grey icon indicates that Ad-Aware is still not "fully" operational, as some of the components are still being started. When the icon tuns back to it's normal look, every component is started and running. Regards, Jeff - Lavasoft

  12. Hello scottls1 I am not sure how installing Ad-Aware could cause this to happen. It is our policy at Lavasoft not to uninstall our competitors products, as we realize that some of our users like to have multiple layers of detection. So, I can assure you, there is no functionality in Ad-Aware intended to do this. But in answer to your question, you should be able to install SWB without any issue, and use both our products. Hey everyone We have a theory about what the issue might be, can someone who has this issue please follow the steps below: 1) Right click the Ad-Aware Tray Application and Exit Ad-Aware. 2) Browse to the directory corresponding to your OS: XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\Defs Vista and Win 7 c:\ProgramData\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\Defs\ 3) In this directory, delete everything [b]but[/b] the "Extended" folder. 4) Perform an update from the start menu. 5) Start Ad-Aware and see if the issue is resolved. Please post back here if it is resolved, this will let us know if we have the right issue, so we can find a way to fix for everyone who is having the issue. Regards, Jeff - Lavasoft

  20. Hey Chris I think you are correct, this doesn't seem to be the same issue everyone else is experiencing. Probably, just a lot of things all running at once. So, I dont think the fix we posted will help you much. As for the crash you are reporting, we are going to start looking in to that now that we have resolved this issue. Much appreciated.[/quote] Hey Sage The update takes place at set days and times, you can see them in the Windows Task Scheduler. There is also a backup feature, that if the defs are more then 4 days old, and update will take place as soon as the service starts. You can hang on to the dumps for now, I will get back if we need some more. Regards, Jeff
  23. Hello Sage It seems you are one of the few with a crash left on this thread. The update seems to have done it for most. I will keep looking in to this one though.
