1. In July, I ordered Lavasoft Total Security...which never worked properly. Lavasoft offered to give me Adaware Pro 10.3 as a replacement, instructed me to uninstall Total Security, and sent a link for me to download 10.3...which I did. After installing 10.3, I noticed I still needed the activation code (registration code?) in order run the thing. I immediately contacted Lavasoft. I have been trying to get the activation code for the past three days. Yesterday, I was promised that the code would be sent today. But it is 2PM on 12 Nov, and I am still waiting for that code. This is Day Three. What kind of "support" is this?
 2.
Hi Swisstoons, There is no special board for Total Security, since the forum is mainly a place where users of the free products can help each other. They can't get help from Lavasoft support, except for really big problems. All paying customers can use Lavasoft email support for free: http://lavasoft.com/...contact_support The phone support is handled by another company. Some general thoughts (I don't have any knowledge of the product): Have you tried to uninstall and install again? I think you had Total Security before 16 July. Is that correct? If yes: Why did you install the program again since it is still the same product version? Have you had other antivirus or similar programs installed recently? You wouldn't notice if there was a keylogger installed since it takes so little time to detect a key press.
When I renewed, the product would not install. So, I called phone number which purportedly was the Lavasoft phone number. I asked the technician, Patrick, on more than one occasion when he worked for Lavasoft (since he was trying to sell me other services) and he told me that he was. I regret having allowed him to remotely control my computer. Thanks you for that email link. I will contact them momentarily. I appreciate your help.
 3. I don't find a board here regarding Adaware Total Security which I renewed on 16 July. When it wouldn't install properly, I called the toll-free number and allowed the tech I spoke with to take control of my computer. After approximately an hour, during which time he tried to talk me into paying for services I did not want, the software was installed. Since then, however, my computer has been slower than ever. When I type, the text lags behind, leading me to believe I may have a key logger on my computer. The only thing the Total Security software has found over the past month is one cookie...which is never identified.. It finds nothing else...ever. I am completely dissatisfied with the product. My question for now is....where is the Total Security board?
 4. I recently renewed my Lavasoft Total Security. Today I received an email from "[email protected]" offering me an update to AdAware 10.2. First question: Is that email from a legitimate Lavasoft sender? Second question: If legitimate, I'm still a Total Security customer. Why would Lavasoft be offering a Total Security user an upgrade to Adaware 10.2?
 5. Problem: Many times during use, window momentarily disappears (screen shows desktop) and then returns 2 or 3 seconds later. 6. About a week ago I emailed Lavasoft Support regarding a problem. "Elizabeth" responded on 7 June with instructions for correcting the problem. Today (13 June) I replied to Elizabeth. Thing is DAEMON has returned all three of my attempts to reply to Elizabeth's email. Is anyone else having this problem? The message accompanying these returns is as follows: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <[email protected]> (reason: 550-Blacklisted: Currently Sending Spam See:) ----- Transcript of session follows ----- ... while talking to filter.lavasoft.com.: <<< 550-Blacklisted: Currently Sending Spam See: <<< 550 http://www.sorbs.net/lookup.shtml?205.188.105.146 554 5.0.0 Service unavailable Final-Recipient: RFC822; [email protected] Action: failed Status: 5.5.0 Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; 550-Blacklisted: Currently Sending Spam See: Last-Attempt-Date: Mon, 13 Jun 2011 11:38:48 -0400 Elizabeth, if you can hear me...how about resetting your spam filter. 7.
Hello everyone The issue with updating Ad-Aware Total Security should now be resolved. There was a small network issue on our servers which is now resolved. Regards, Jeff - Lavasoft
The update still takes forever to begin. Once it starts, though, it moves along quickly.
 8.
I am having exactly the same problem. The difference between a "full" scan and a Smart Scan is 186 objects. It is just not doing the job. And like another commenter, I am left to wonder whether my computer is being protected. When I contacted Support, they seemed to be completely unaware of the problem. I sent a screenshot of the full scan results with my initial email last night. In response to Support's email this morning, I sent a side-by-side comparison of both the full scan and the Smart Scan. I am waiting to hear back. And I have just sent them the link to this Forum posting, as well.
And this, in part, is Support's reply to my concern about the difference between a Full Scan and a Smart Scan being a mere 186 objects: "The number of objects which are being scanned with Smart scan are different from Full scan." He goes on to tell me how to scan in Safe Mode if I'm concerned about possible infections. Is this what I'm paying for? Like cressy, I can't remember the last time AdAware found anything at all on my computer. Not even a cookie.
