1. I to am getting this problem having updated to the new version. I have a scheduled scan to run ever Thursday, and in the last scheduled runs, it has generated an "Ad-aware was shut down unexpectedly and has generated an error report" message. My system config is Windows XP sp3.
2. I was sent the following :- Please click the link below to download and install the following program: http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php Open it and use it to uninstall Ad-Aware using the 'Advanced' Uninstall Mode. In Step 4 of the uninstall make sure to click the 'Select All' button and then the 'Delete' button when prompted and then click Next When Revo is finished, reboot your computer Once that is completed download the latest installer package of Ad-Aware using the link below and re-install: <http://download.lavasoft.com/public/81/Ad-AwareInstallation.exe> <http://download.lavasoft.com/public/aawamber/Ad-AwareInstaller.exe> <http://download.lavasoft.com/public/aawamber/Ad-AwareInstaller.exe> http://download.lavasoft.com/public/aawamb...reInstaller.exe I also asked the question as to why the entry was missing from MSCONFIG, the reply I was given is:- Ad-Aware is using a service to be able to work which starts up automatically with windows. Thank for your help.
3. Thank U, I have contacted them.
4. I have tried to contact Lavasoft Customer Support via the link in your signature. I am presented with a form to enter my mail address and password. Unfortunately, all the mail addresses I key in are not registered, and therefore I have no way of contacting them. I would have thought that someone from Lavasoft would have viewed this problem and advised what to do next. Additionally, I tried to do an update, and it reported that there were no updates, which I find strange as there is normally an update every day.
5. I have noticed that Adware 8.2.5 (Pro) no longer starts up with the PC. Prior to the update there was an entry in MSconfig to start it automatically. Under Settings, it is set to Download and Update immediately. Any ideas?
6. Exe file upload using WinRAR as I don't have winzip or 7-zip. Password is infected. I have turned OFF the FILES aspect under Ad-Watch until I hear from you.
7. The following file which belongs to Diskeeper (defrag Tool) is being marked as Malware family: Trojan.Win32.Generic! under Ad-Watch FILES, when I try to install the product. Version of Diskeeper being used is 10.0.680 My Version of Ad-Ware is 8.2.0. I tried to do a restore from quarantine, but it has not been restored to the installation folder and therefore I cannot attach it.
8. OK, I have uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and the problem seems to have been resolved. However, I still have the following question, relating to Ad-Watch, only the Process is marked as ON. The other two Registry and Network is OFF. Is this correct for the free option.
9. Opening Ad-aware, selecting Ad-Watch, shows Realtime Protection as OFF, as well as Process, Registry and Network.
10. When I point the mouse next to the yellow triangle it displays the message "please restart your computer to finalise installation of Ad-Watch Live!". Hope this clears things for you.
11. Casey, Yes, it was a typo on my behalf, the file name is indeed lbd.inf. Any ideas?
12. I have recently installed the Free Anniversary Edition and I note that I keep getting the yellow triangle in my system tray asking that I reboot to finalise the installation of Ad-Watch Live. I have rebooted several times, but I cannot get rid of the message. I have even tried to do what is being recommended on other posts (i.e. reinstall ibd.inf from the driver library) but no joy. My OS is XP Home, SP3
