  1. I Recently upgraded from Ad-Aware Anniversary edition to the Ad-Aware 8.1 version on 8 of my computers. On 2 of my computers, whether scanning in Smart Sacn or Full Scan, the Ad-Aware screen will appear showing the progress of the scan. However, as it contines, the Ad-Aware screen will completely disappear, and go back to the desktop. The Ad-Aware icon even disappears in the lower right corner. Tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. Tried disabling the Norton Product Tamper Protection, to no avail. Tried going to Msconfig and selecting "Selective Startup," unchecking the "Load Startuo Items," and clicking "Apply." Computer reboots, but still have problem. Both computers are using Windows XP, Norton Security Suite, 1 is 2009, other is 2010, Spy-bot, Windows Defender, and Ad-Aware, version 8.1. Anyone else experiencing this issue? If so, have you found a soloution, and if so, please advise. Thank you. Halloween
  2. Posted by Halloween on April 26, 2009, 10:00 P.M. - EST - USA ACCURATE DATES OF SCANS NOT RETAINED Despite the major update/download by Lavasoft on April 21, 2009 (8.04) for the Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition, the update/download did not correct the retention of the accuracy of the last scan date(s). Prior to the update/download, the computer experiencing this issue did not reflect any date(s) of the last scan once the computer was rebooted. Now, the date of the last scan after rebooting the computer reflects a date approximately 6 days ago. This is despite conducting a smart scan daily. This is consistent and the update/download apparently did not address/rectify this issue. Therefore, this is another issue Lavasoft needs to address. Any suggestions in the meantime to correct this issue? The computer is a Toshiba Satellite laptop with the following software: 1. Windows XP Home edition with Service Pack 3; 2. Norton 2009 Security Suite; 3. Spy-bot; 4. Windows Defender; and 5. Firewall is controlled by Norton 2009 Security Suite. Not an issue on 7 other computers. Halloween

  6. CONNECTION ERROR, CHECK YOUR SETTINGS. Ever since Lavasoft did a major update/download on April 21, 2009 I cannot do an automatic or manual web update with my 2009 Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition software installed on my Dell XPS computer that currently uses the Windows Vista Ultimate edition - 32 bit. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Ad-Aware Annivesary Edition on four (4) separate occasions, but I continue to receive "CONNECTION ERROR, CHECK YOUR SETTINGS" whenever I attempt a automatic and/or manual update. In fact, the only way I've been able to update the most current version, is by uninstalling and reinstalling each different day. I'm using McAfee Security suite, Spy-bot, and Windows Defender. I've confirmed that "aawservice.exe" is allowed full access. I did not have this issue prior to the April 21, 2009 major update/download by Lavasoft. Please help identifty the problem. Thank you.
