1.
Hello Drphilx It looks like it should be working as Normal according to that screen shot... What I am thinking is, because your font size is high you cannot see the cursor when you click in that box. If you click in the box and hit backspace a bunch of times, do you see the text being deleted? Please let me know. Thanks Jeff
Jeff, I feel so stupid!!!! That is correct. I am almost speechless - you hit it on the head! - Thank you and I mus apologize for not thinking about such a rudimentary solution. Thank you again, Phil
2.
Hello Drphilx I am still not able to reproduce, could you please post a screen shot so I can see what you see? Regards, Jeff - Lavasoft
I did attach a screen shot but maybe it didn't get into the message. I will try again here. Thank you again for your help. Cheers, Phil
3.
Hello Drphilx Can you send a screen shot of the trouble you are having? I do not seem to be able to reproduce it... Do you mean there is no option to edit the time at all? or that when you change it, it does not change? Please let me know. Jeff - Lavasoft
Jeff, Thank you for the reply. I cannot change the time in the Start Time Box. You will notice the start time box is pre-populated with the time I entered the the parameters for the scheduled scan. I cannot change that time. I can't seem to find a work around. Thank you again for the look. Cheers, Phil
4. Since I updated the latest iteration of Ad-Aware I have not been able to set the time for a scheduled scan to begin. When I set the parameters for a scheduled scan, the time in the time set area shows the time to begin as the time I set the scan schedule. This cannot be changed. I uninstalled the version completely and reinstalled. The same problem presents itself. I've been using Ad-Aware for years and really like the functionality. OH BTW, the scanner runs perfectly. I would appreciate any suggestions to correct this annoying situation. Thank you.
5. Followed inx and was able to load. Now whenI run the program, it runs for a few seconds and I get this: Runtime error! Program C:\ProgramFileS\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\AAWService.exeabnormalprogramtermination - - - - -OK
6. I have used Ad-Aware before but I cannot load the new prgram. I receive the following message: Runtime error in setup script: Line 948 failed to set data for "display icon". I have removed and re-nstalled but to no avail. Appreciate your help.
7. Gentlemen, Thank you for the sage advice. I made the additions to the registry and made sure the permissions were correctly noted and lo and behold it loaded and is running normally. This is one for me to stash away for use at a later time. Thank you again. Doc
8. Thank you for our prompt response. I have the following: McAfee Security Suite, Windows Defender, SpwareBlaster v4.0, HiJackThis, CC Cleaner, Revo Uninstaller, and ACE Utilities. I removed the previous version (the one immediately before the Anniversary Edition) and the ran CC Cleaner and Ace Utilties to clean things up. Shut the machine down and restarted and then downloaded a fresh version of the 2009 and tried to install it again. Theresults are the same error code. I really liked the previous versions. It seemed to catch things other programs missed. I hope someone has a solution for this problem. Thank you again, Doc
9. I am not a novice nor an IT Pro - this is Win XP all up to date with McAfee suite. I removed the older version of Ad-Aware and now am not able to install the Anniversary Free Version. The process almost finishes and the I receive the following error message: Runtime error in setup script: Line 594: Faled to set data for 'DisplayIcon'. [OK] That is it - - any suggestions? I like the product. Doc
