Looking thru the installer cleanup a 2nd time, I found out there were several instances of VC++ 9 but with different names (what the?). Removed them, reboot, and now it installed just fine! Thanks a lot, visitor, for the assistance.
Sorry for the delayed response; no internet connection. I tried them. The 1st resolution couldn't work because there's no "common administrative tools" in the registry editor. Tried the second one but still same error. I even removed the version 2005 of Visual C++ but still same error.
Every time I try to install it it tells me the same error: "Error 1606. Could not access network location :."
I'm thinking it has to do when it tries to install Visual C++ Runtime 9 SP1 (which should be no problem in the 1st place since it's already installed) I've tried all possible solutions from the topics I could find here. I even made a clean uninstall of 8.1 with Rev Pro but still keeps saying the same thing. Please, help.
