1. I was just able to update successfully to 0150.0681 so it seems the problem has been corrected. Thank you !
2. Same here. I recently posted my issue on another thread. My last update was Jan. 7, 2012 and the most current definition I have is 0150.0674. Is there any hope of getting this resolved? Edited: Just saw LS Andy's announcement that they are working on it. Strangely, my last definition is .0674, not.0675.
3. I don't think the problem has been resolved. My last successful update was on January 7,2012 which got me to 0150.0674. When I try to update (tried again just now) I get the message my software is up to date which I doubt--no updates in 4 days? Unlikely. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens. I have not installed or uninstalled recently, nor have I newly installed Ad-Aware for the first time. Same thing recently during the Christmas-New Year's week where I couldn't update for a week. Can anyone shed some light on the matter? Edited to add: I just saw LS Andy's announcement so it seems the problem is being worked on. Curiously, my last definition is .0674, not.0675.
4. I am happy to confirm that I was able to update successfully. Thanks everyone.
5. It is now one week since I've been able to update definitions and I am very concerned. Could someone please give us a status report on this situation?
6. Same for me. My last update was December 22nd. When I try to update I get a message that the software is up to date.
7. I posted a few days earlier (Post #4) with the problem of not being able to update. I performed the work-around and it looked like the problem was solved--not so fast. Today I find my update attempts get to thorax.aaw and then just quits and disappears. My last update shows to be .0370 Yes, I guess I have to try the work around again, but it seems like there are so many of us with this problem. For all of us who post there are probably countless others who do not post their issues, so I'm guessing the problem is not a small one. Something is buggy and I'm hoping it is fixed soon.
8. I just realized that my definitions have not updated since April 12 despite a few manual attempts. I followed LS Andy's instructions, and am pleased to report that I have updated successfully and all seems to be well. Thank you for the good advice. Hopefully the updates will work without difficulty now.
9. Hooray! I just updated and it was super quick. Life is better now. Thanks for getting the slow problem fixed.
10. I am another user who is plagued with very slow updates. It seems to have started a couple of weeks ago when I updated to version 9.0.2. It's not the end of the world but certainly the problem can be addressed by the powers that be. Some acknowledgment of this issue from those on high would be appropriate. Is there any hope of improvement? Throw us peons a few crumbs, please.
11.
Same here: download speed isn't the problem, the download servers are fast. Problem is the slow start of the download manager and it takes veeeerrrry long 'applying updates'. In former versions the updates are applied in a few seconds, now it takes about half an hour even on a fast machine.
I am experiencing the same situation after installing 8.3.3 which became 8.3.4. The Update Manager opens and does nothing for a long time (I haven't timed it precisely), then it downloads quickly, but takes forever to apply the updates. I've developed my own work around--I do my own manual updates at the start of my computer sessions so it's not an inconvenience for me to wait, but I have noticed how doggone slow it is. I used to have 8.1.4 which I had to get rid of when it morphed into a Beta Version. I like Ad-Aware and will keep my fingers crossed that the techies will come up with a fix for this soon.
12. I have uninstalled the Pro Beta 2 and installed v8.3.3 and all seems to be well (keeping my fingers crossed). Thanks, Visitor, for your input and to the others for posting their problems.
13. I have a similar issue. I now have Version Beta 2 after doing a Web Update. I did not install or uninstall anything, this happened by itself after I clicked on the Web Update button on the main screen. It states last update 9/16 0149.0399. Used to have 8.1.4. System Scans work but Web Update fails as I get "Connection error, check your settings Errorcode-1". Is there a simple way to resolve this?
