1. paid for ad aware pro 1 year in november 2010 worked great then came update december 7th 2010. program now takes 4 to 5 minutes to load on windows 7 64 bit. download gaurd interferes with java in explorer 8. can't use unresponsive laptop until ad aware is up and running. laptop is amd vision video and amd processor 2.6 ghz dual core 3mb cashe. 3gb ram with all bells and whistles. program would not uninstall completely, had to recover system by erasing hard drive and mbr records followed by a clean up to date o.s. install plus other software. ad aware was the only program before as there were no other protective programs. i since went with another vendor for paid version of avast. no mre problems, no more ad aware. support for ad aware unresponsive for paid versions. now have free 24 hour 7 day 800 number support for avast and have not had to call them. bye bye adaware, you were great but you somehow changed. keep my money to hire better software engineers.
 2. WOW, i use photo bucket pro and collect jpg and gif animated images from comments posted on profiles in tagged.com....to do this i right click on image and save to temp folder on system then upload to photobucket. anyway two gif images were somehow locked and i discovered they were active in adobe flash player 10 and i had not initiated this activity..could not delete locked files..no reaction from adaware..so i thought i would delete them with the locked file deleter in malware bytes...BIG MISTAKE...as soon as i tried to open malwarebytes..the computor went crazy..sound driver making noise, black screen with computor code appearing...SHUT DOWN FAST USING POWER BUTTON..restarted safe mode and removed the original offending files..checked hidden temp folders and deleted newly installed files during event and checked sys32 and syswow64..restarted...found the icon cashe was deleted but it defaulted and restored itself..adaware restarted but all sheilds were turned off except the first one..i had to reinstall license to get it working again..watching the outbound communications shows no unwarranted activity..full update and full scan with adaware and two other scanners shows clean system. the bugs with internet explorer that were present well before the incident are now gone and browser actually works better with all addons present. no damage to flash player or java runtime..everything working....watch out for those gif image comments on social sites which are rampent with christmas comments this time of year...
 3.
Hi, I've tried all the fixes and I can't get adaware to work. I used spybot and it fixed some problems mostly browser issues. I have a log file from hijackthis but I don't know how to use it. The PC seems to be running a bit slow but these probs could be due to the browser? I get a little box on starting adaware with 'connection to service failed'. I did update the 8.3 version, it looked like it took. I don't know what to do now. Help. I'm running on xp and mcaffee scan. Sue.
REMOVE THE MCAFEE BLOATWARE AND YOUR SYSTEM WILL PICK UP SOME SPEED. TEMPORARILLY UNINSTALL ADAWARE ALSO, THEN DOWNLOAD CCLEANER FROM DOWNLOAD.COM NAVIGATE CCLEANER TO THE REGISTRY CLEANUP UTILITY AND SELECT ANALIZE AND WHEN COMPLETE SELECT CLEAN. GO TO FOLDER OPTIONS AND SELECT SHOW HIDDEN FOLDERS. GO TO C DRIVE SELECT USERS AND GO THRUOGH EACH USER ACCOUNT THOROUGHLY AND DELETE ANY MCAFEE FOLDERS AS WELL AS ANY OTHER PROGRAMS THAT WERE REMOVED BEFORE. THEN GO BACK TO C DRIVE SELECT PROGRAMS AND DELETE MCAFEE FOLDERS BE SURE TO CHECK THE COMMON FOLDER CONTENTS ALSO...RE RUN THE CCLEANER REGISTRY CLEANER THEN UNINSTALL CCLEANER...DOWNLOAD ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE THREE FREE VERSION FROM DOWNLOAD.COM..THEN NAVIGATE TO ITS REGISTRY CLEANER AND RUN IT...THEN RUN REGISTRY DEFRAGGER..AFTER THIS GO TO CONTROL PANEL AND SELECT THE BOTTOM SELECTION IN THE FANCY VEIW AND DEFRAG THE HARD DRIVE..REINSTALL ADAWARE YOU SHOULD BE FINE WRITE ALL THIS DOWN IN ADVANCE. AS FAR AS HIJACK THIS IS CONCERNED DO NOT DELETE ANY ENTRYS ON THE LIST AT THIS TIME EXCEPT FOR REFERENCES TO MCAFEE UNCHECK ALL OTHER BOXES AND CLICK FIX.....MANY HIJACKTHIS ENTRIES ARE VALID AND SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE IGNORRED LIST BUT I CANT HELP YOU WITHOUT SEEING THE HIJACK THIS REPORT..YOUR RUNNING XP AND ARE PROBABLY BEHIND ON MAINTENANCE TASKS AS WELL SO THEY HAVE BEEN INCLUDED TO SPEED UP YOUR SYSTEM BE SURE THAT TEA TIMER IS TURNED OFF COMPLETELY IN SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY AS THIS CAN CAUSE CONFLICTS. BETTER TO REPLACE THAT PROGRAM WITH MALWAREBYTES ANTI MALWARE FREE VERSION ONLY FROM DOWNLOAD.COM AS WELL. A CORRUPT REGISTRY WITH INVALID ENTRIES CAN CAUSE MANY PROBLEMS WHICH IS WHY WE ARE CLEANING IT OUT. IF YOU ARE AN ADVANCED USER YOU COULD USE REGEDIT COMMAND ON THE RUN LINE TO FURTHER REMOVE EVEN MORE INVALID ENTRIES. IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW PLEASE DONT ATTEMPT IT.ALSO WHEN USING ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE FREE IT MAY TRY TO SELL YOU THE PAID VERSION.....DO NOT BUY IT ...IF YOU DO IT WILL DO AUTOMATIC MAINTENANCE AND CHANGE SYSTEM SETTINGS UNDESIRABLY AND THE PAID VERSIONS DEEP REGISTRY CLEANING OPTION CAN REMOVE MANY VALID ENTRIES.USE THE FREE VERSION ONLY
 4.
hi, i am using AVG 2011 free, vers 10.0.1170 and downloaded a few days ago ad aware free 8.3.6. after installing ad aware i realized that it has now real time protection, which i switched off, as not to interfere with AVG, which cannot be switched off. i used to have ad aware for the first time in 2004, that time it was only a scanner without any real time protection. so my question is: is it sufficiant to turn off the real time protection, or do i have to shut down ad aware completely? or even to deinstall it? can it be desinstalled completely? does it interfere with my free version of AVG in any way? thank you for you help
ADAWARE FREE DOES NOT HAVE REAL TIME PROTECTION THE PAID VERSION ON SALE FOR NINE DOLLARS HAS REAL TIME PROTECTION AGAINST SPYWARE VIRUSES ROOTKITS..YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER PAYING NINE DOLLARSW FOR A YEARS COVERAGE AND GET RID OF AVG ALL TOGETHER WHICH DOES NOT CAPTURE VIRUSES IN THE WILD AND DEPENDS ON SIGNATURE UPDATES TO USE A MATCHING PROCESS...ADAWARE HAS A PROCESS WATCH AND MONITORS THE SYSTEM REGISTRY IN THE PAID VERSION AND YOU CAN ALSO LOCK THE HOSTS FILE. IF YOU DONT WANT ALL THAT YOU SHOULD DO SCANS REGULARLY WITH THE ESET NOD 32 FREE ONLINE SCANNER WHICH IS A PREMIUM ANTIVIRUS ONLY PRODUCT IF REAL TIME PROTECTION IS PURCHASED,HOWEVER THE FREE VERSION WILL REMOVE INFECTIONS NOT FOUND BY AVG AND YOU SHOULD ALSO GET THE FREE VERSION OF MALWAREBYTES ANTI MALWARE WHICH IS ALSO EXCELLENT AS A MALWARE NON VIRUS FINDER-REMOVER..
 5.
I have run a full thorough scan several times and each Ad-Aware finds "Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Small" When I try to let it do the recommended action, my system locks up. I have run scans with Avast Free and Superantispyware Free. Both of these applications find nothing. I have google-d this virus and most of the info is quite old. 2007ish. Can't believe I some how got a virus that old... **** Technical Details This Trojan downloads other malicious programs. It is a Windows PE EXE file. It is written in Microsoft Visual C++. It is not packed in any way. The size of infected files may vary from 20KB to 27KB. Payload Once launched, the Trojan extracts a file from itself, and saves it to the C:\Windows directory as "inetloader.dll". **** I have looked for this file to no avail. Is this a false positive and can I get it to stop? Thoughts? Suggestions?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SUPERANTISPYWARETHREE IS A PHONY PROGRAM,,PLEASE REMOVE IT COMPLETELY AND DOWNLOAD MALWAREBYTES ANTI MALWARE AND RUN A FULL SCAN AFTER UPDATEING THE INSTALLATION ALSO RUN THE ESET NOD 32 ONLINE FREE ANTIVIRUS SCANNER WHICH WILL REMOVE WHAT IT FINDS ALSO. MALWAREBYTES HAS AN ADVANCED OPTION ALLOWING REMOVAL OF LOCKED UNDELETEABLE UNACCESSABLE FILES(FILE ASSASIN OPTION IN FREE VERSION OF MALWAREBYTES) IF THEY ARE FOUND..inetloader.dll IS MOST LIKELY BURRIED IN THE c:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/FOLDER CHECK THERE BUT BE CAREFUL WITH WHAT YOU DELETE THESE ARE SYSTEM FILES and you can damage the windows installation by deleteing valid system objects.ALSO YOUR SYSTEM RESTORE IS MOST LIKELY INFECTED SO THE FILE REINSTALLS WHEN EVER YOU DO A SYSTEM RESTORE..AFTER REMOVING INFECTION PLEASE TEMPORARILLY TURN OFF SYSTEM RESTORE AND RESTART THE SYSTEM//THEN TURN RESTORE BACK ON AND CREATE A NEW RESTORE POINT AS ALL PRIOR INFECTED RESTORE POINTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED
 6.
I downloaded the free version of ad aware today, and now it is ruining my computer, it's gone crazy!!! I can't open some programs on my computer it asks which program do I want o use to open it with, couldn't open add/remove programs to get rid of ad aware, couldn't open my mahjongg game, which I played this morning before I downloaded ad aware, I even had a hard time opening internet explorer, it didn't want to recognize the program. There was nothing wrong with my computer before ad aware, now I can't use most of it at all. And yes I restarted it, and still nothing works. Whats going on and how do I fix it and get rid of ad aware?!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ANSWER ONE) OPEN TASK MANAGER HOLDING CONTROL/ALT/DELETE BUTTONS TOGETHER, THEN TERMINATE ADAWARE PROGRAM..THEN TRY UNINSTALL ANSWER TWO) PLEASE DO A SYSTEM RESTORE TO THE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING ADAWARE THEN WHEN COMPUTOR IS WORKING GOOGLE "ESET NOD 32 ANTIVIRUS" FREE ONLINE SCANNER, RUN SCANNER TO REMOVE ANY VIRUSES PRESENT THEN DOWNLOAD MALWAREBYTES ANTI MALWARE, UPDATE IT AND RUN A SCAN TO REMOVE POSSIBLE MALWARE INFECTIONS. I AM RUNNING ADAWARE PAID VERSION SUCESSFULLY ON WINDOWS 7-64BIT, YOU MAY HAVE A CORRUPT SYSTEM AND IF ANSWERS ABOVE DONT SOLVE YOUR ISSUES PLEASE CONSIDER WIPING YOUR HARD DRIVE CLEAN AND REINSTALL A FRESH COPY OF YOUR NON-PIRATED WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM AND APPLY ALL UPDATES FROM MICROSOFT.COM THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO REINSTALL ADAWARE AND BE PROTECTED AGAINST FURTHER ASSULTS ON YOUR SYSTEM
