1. No, i don´t want to manually select a drive, i want to setup a scan of several, but not all drives. fx. a scan on: C, E, U.
2. Hi ! Have the VERY annoying settings for "Custom-Scan" been fixed in 10.4 ? "Of course the should be an option to schedule a "Custom-Scan". Also, "Custom-Scan" should remember the settings, fx. the selected drives that should be scanned next time. The driveselection-window is to small, there is no overview and you have to scoll a lot."
3.
Hi GFCH, hackerman1 certainly has right, but another possibility is to do a system restore to a restore point created before the installation of Ad-Aware: Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore I guess that the cause to your problems is that you installed Ad-Aware 10 Free Antivirus+ when you already had an antivirus program installed.
You are corrrect. But, you have to remember that it also remove other software and settings that has been installed / done after the restore point was created. And the system-restore is NOT reliable btw. I once restored my system to a previous point, but windows update still claimed that i had some updates installed even though these were installed AFTER i had created the restorepoint...!? So the easiest and best method would be what i posted above: "Reinstall and then do a "proper" uninstall." If that doesn´t work, then do a system-restore, or even better in my opinion, restore your system from the latest systembackup (if you have one...)
4. Hi ! Exactly what did you do when you tried to uninstall it ? Did you turn off Ad-Aware first ? If you tried to uninstall with Ad-Aware still running then you probably will get those problema with files that cannot be deleted. In that case i suggest youn reinstall and then do a "proper" uninstall.
5.
Hi darkin99, I'll inform my contact person at Lavasoft about your post. Blekko isn't malicious. You can read about Blekko on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blekko Some comments from other people about the web site: http://www.mywot.com...card/blekko.com It is part of the security toolbar with its safe browsing feature. I guess that the search page will block you from ending up on malicious web sites, which can easily happen when using for example Google for searches. It is optional to install the toolbar during the installation of Ad-Aware. You can configure Firefox and decide what shall happen when you open a new tab.
Hi ! Well, that´s NOT exactly true ! That toolbar is already marked (pre-checked) during the installation together with Browsing-protection. You have to unmark those options, which means it´s optional NOT to install it ! So that´s why you had it installed darkin99.... There is also a very annoying "forced" installation of the Browsing-protection. It´s installed even if you unmark the option ! To remove it you have to open Control panel → Programs and features, and then uninstall it.
6. Hi ! There is no "Custom Scan"-option available when scheduling a scan ? Hmmm, thats weird... Because the F.A.Q. says: "Setting the Scan my computer with the following schedule option enables you to specify the scheduling parameters listed below: - Frequency period to scan computer (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly) - Scan type (Quick, Full, and Custom) - Scan time " http://www.lavasoft....53&category=230 If there is no option to select a "Custom-Scan" when scheduling a scan, then it makes Ad-Aware useless. The "Full-Scan" has no option to deselect fx. "All-drives" which means that it would take a very long time to scan drives that do not need to be scanned. I´m using a "Linuxstyle-setup" with separate partitions for System (O/S), Programs & Media (audio, video, documents & filearchive). I have 4 O/S-partitions in my computer, which all share the same Program & Media-partition. So i don´t want to scan those other partitions, just the active system-partition. Of course the should be an option to schedule a "Custom-Scan". Also, "Custom-Scan" should remember the settings, fx. the selected drives that should be scanned next time. The driveselection-window is to small, there is no overview and you have to scoll a lot. The user-interface is confusing. There are small "links" at the top-right corner and a menu to the left. You should be consistent, keep the menu at one place (left) and replace those "links" with more visible "buttons" like the leftmenu looks today. The UI looks like some webbsites look, with links everywhere on the page... In Quick & Full-scan the settings are "greyed" which is normal since you can´t change them, but in schedule a scan the opions for scantype & time are also "greyed" which at first made me think they were nonchangeable, but since you can change them, why are they "grey" ??? Being a good Antivirus-program is more than good detection, it also need to be userfriendly...

8. Hi ! Ad-Aware 10.2.21.3698: There is no "Custom Scan"-option available when scheduling a scan ?
