  1. I found an vulnerability in Adaware's Web-companion Where do i report that? I am not able to find a proper place to report bugs.
  2. My AdAware installation has been activated, I can see the configured key in the settings. Yet on a regular basis it creates a popup asking me to "complete registration". It takes me to a page where I can install AdAware, but I already have it! I've also tried updating, but that also only takes me to an installation website, instead of updating the software. This is interrupting my work and driving me crazy, if this can't be turned off I'll have to uninstall. And I imagine many people already uninstalled for this reason. This is totally broken.
  3. Hi, Running the AdAwareCommandLineScanner tool with any arguments (--full or --quick) on fully updated Windows 10 and Windows 7 64-bit hosts triggers this error and crashes the program: adawareCommandLineScanner.exe --full Initializing engine, please wait... Couldn't perform scan. Error: Src\Scanner.cpp(194): Throw in function void __cdecl AdAwareCommandLineScanner::Scanner::InitEx(void) Dynamic exception type: class boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<struct ExceptionHelper::Exception> std::exception::what: Couldn't initialize scanner. Error: LoadingEngine Request duration: 00:00:00.551783 I hope this will be fix very soon
  4. How you report a bug is very important. Please provide us with detailed steps to reproduce the experienced problem and follow the steps below to gather the required information and help adaware software investigate the problem. 1. Hidden files To see all files you have to select to show hidden files, see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files for a description. Please, restore the setting when you're done with this instruction. 2. adaware folder Windows 7, 8 and 10: Please, find the folder C:\ProgramData\adaware\adaware antivirus. Right-click the folder name and select Send to - Compressed folder. A new zip file, called adaware antivirus.zip, will be created. 3. Temp folder Windows 7, 8 and 10: Please, find the folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp. Find the files starting with Msi, check the time stamp of the files to find one or several files created during the installation of Ad-Aware (usually seven files). Select all the found files, right-click them and select Send to - Compressed folder. A new zip file, called Msixxx.zip, will be created. The above files might be missing if you haven't installed adaware recently. 4. System Information Windows 8 and 10: Please, right-click on Start button (bottom left corner) and select Search. Search for: msinfo32 When it's listed (may appear as System Information), start that program. In the System Information window, please select Save in the File menu and save the file where you can find it, e.g. the desktop. Right-click the saved file and select Send to - Compressed folder. A new zip file will be created. Windows 7: Please, click on Start button and in the little search field above the start button enter the command: msinfo32 When it's listed above the search field, start that program. In the System Information window, please select Save in the File menu and save the file where you can find it, e.g. the desktop. Right-click the saved file and select Send to - Compressed folder. A new zip file will be created. 5. In the forum Click on choose files... at the bottom of the reply box Find the adaware antivirus.zip file. Click on Open. Repeat for Msixxx.zip file and the file from System information. Enter everything else you want to have in your post. Click on Submit Question (when starting a new topic) or Submit Reply (when replying) to post. Thank you for your help!
  5. Since installing windows 8.1 build 9600 and Ad-Aware there is a bug that causes Windows 8.1 to give a false chkdsk error. restart to repair drive errors (important) Removing Ad-aware removes the announcement. I was very happy with your software so far, also it doesn't seem to does any damage. Perhaps it has to do with a boot protection measure? Following sites list this issue as well: http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/18812-restart-repair-drive-errors-keep-showing-up-2.html#post371600 http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-performance/81-keeps-giving-restart-to-repair-drive-errors/ab55de7b-6886-4e83-a288-8c32f2854ac0
  6. I use several security tools that many Av programs "freak" out on and call hack tools or Trojans. I can not add them to the ignore list because it does not list the DLL in question. When I use Explorer the file is in the proper location and is confirmed as being present and functional. In the add box "File Type" is set to all. The location is confirmed as being correct also if you try to enter the location manually it displays the "File not found" dialog box. I can not provide more info about the type of file sorry it is proprietary. Intel Dual core 2.6 Ghz 2GB RAM OS XP 64-bit Software Version: 10.1.211.3382
