Hi, I'm having adware problems (popups on Google Chrome, the only web browser I use), so i decided to install the free version of Ad-Aware 11. I downloaded the installer (edit: I also tried the standalone installer at http://www.lavasoft.com/mylavasoft/support/supportcenter/run_on_a_frozen_pc/ad-aware-standalone-installer with no success), but as soon as I double click on it, it says: (rough translation: This application cannot be executed in this computer. To search for a version for your computer, contact the software editor") I´m using 64-bit Windows 8.1 on a laptop. Thank you in advance for your answer System Info.zip
I installed Adaware 10.4. I was super pleased to read that 10.4 is made to be compatible with other anti-virus programs. Real-time protection for MSE was already enabled. So I enabled AdAware Real-Time Protection from the Notification Area menu (or at least I tried). Then, when I opened AdAware a warning was presented saying AdAware is not compatible with Microsoft Security Essentials. The big new feature presented regarding 10.4 is it's compatibility with other antivirus programs. Have I missed something?
Hello, I am using Zone Alarm Extreme Security 10.2 as my anti-virus and anti-spyware, but it has not been blocking pop-up ads from casinos. I also have on my computer, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and it also hasn't been blocking them. I just installed Ad-Aware 10.3 with the hopes of correcting this problem. I noticed during installation that there is an "anti-virus" feature. In the past, I've heard that you can't use two anti-virus programs on the same computer because they will each think that the other is a virus. Does anyone know if these two are compatible or not? Thanks! Jeff
