  1. I installed Adaware Antivirus free, but it cannot start. A windows pops up saying "This application failed to start because it could not find or load QT platform plugin windows". I tried to reinstall the application but will not let me poping the same banner. I'm trying to get rid of banners that pop up from time to time that, in the bottom line mentions "Chrome" I would appreciate if anybody can help. Thanks, Jorge
  2. Hi, I'm having adware problems (popups on Google Chrome, the only web browser I use), so i decided to install the free version of Ad-Aware 11. I downloaded the installer (edit: I also tried the standalone installer at with no success), but as soon as I double click on it, it says: (rough translation: This application cannot be executed in this computer. To search for a version for your computer, contact the software editor") I´m using 64-bit Windows 8.1 on a laptop. Thank you in advance for your answer System
  3. If you get the message "Error: Couldn't create process." after installation of/upgrading to adaware antivirus 12, please try: 1. Make sure that you have Service Pack 1. 2. Reboot the computer, since that sometimes solves this type of error. 3. It's very important that Windows 7 is updated, since adaware depends on the update called KB 3033929. Please try to install it: Windows 7 32 bit: Windows 7 64 bit: 4. If you're using a virtual machine, there are some incompatibilities and it's not recommended. If still unsuccessful, please start a new topic in the forum.
  4. At the moment the Ad-Aware servers are overloaded, probably due to so many persons wanting to upgrade to 11.2, and it's difficult to get to Lavasoft's web site in a browser, but it's also difficult for Ad-Aware 11.1 to fetch information about 11.2. The latter can give empty windows or buttons/links that don't work. Please be patient, Ad-Aware 11.1 is still working and is protecting your computer. If you don't want to wait, you can download Ad-Aware 11.2 from: Free version: Personal Security: Pro Security: Total Security: Read carefully and don't click on any ads trying to download other programs instead. Download and save the file first, when done you can install Ad-Aware 11.2 from the downloaded file. During the installation process, the installation program will try to connect to Lavasoft's servers. It might fail and give you an error message or a blank window but the installation should be done anyway.
  5. I hope someone can help here. I just downloaded the adware free from CNET. I had the license key for Pro. I had uninstalled Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 before I started and reboot the computer. When I try to install and after choosing the language option, it prompt Norton Internet Security found on the machine and did not allow me to continue installation. I'd tried to search registry, data file and clean as much as possible. The problem still persist. Appreciate if anyone can help. MY OS : Windows Vista 32bit Thanks.
  6. Hi, I just tried installing the free version of Ad-Aware from Lavasoft, but as soon as I run the installation file I get an alert from my antivirus programme, Trend Micro Office Scan, that the ad-aware.msi file (located in a temp directory) is a trojan (to be specific: troj_dloader.bmc). Is the file truly infected or could it be a false positive? Please let me know! Tnx in advance.
  7. Hi I run Windows 7 x64 bit Premium Home Edition and after trying to update from an old version of ad aware I have not been able to install the latest version (9.6). I first manually uninstalled the old version, without using Revo and upon installing 9.6 was met with: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I then did registry cleans, redownloaded 9.6 numerous times, tried other methods such as trying to install an old version of Windows Installer Package 3.1 and 4.5 (which are both years old) as suggested in a very similar thread, installed old AAW and uninstalled using Revo as suggested - all to no avail. I still come up with the same message no matter what I've done. Help would be appreciated. Thanks
