  1. If you encounter a problem with LavasoftTcpService after uninstallation of Web Companion: Option #1 Please, determine if you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows: 1. Press + R on your keyboard. 2. Type C: and then press Enter key (this will open your C: drive). If inside your C: drive, you see Program Files (x86) folder, you have a 64-bit Windows. If you don't, you have 32-bit Windows. Please, disable the locked "LavasoftTCPService.dll" file: 1. Download the attached file => KomodiaFix.zip 2. Right-click the file and select Extract All. 3. Open the folder named KomodiaFix to find the necessary files inside. 4a. If you have a 32-bit Windows, right-click on uninstall.bat and select Run as Admin. 4b. If you have a 64-bit Windows, right-click on uninstall64.bat and select Run as Admin. 5. Once the process is complete, restart your computer. 6. After restart, please delete these two files: C:\WINDOWS\system32\LavasoftTcpService64.dll C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\LavasoftTcpService.dll (only for 64-bit Windows) Restart your computer once more, please. You may now delete the KomodiaFix.zip files you downloaded and extracted. Option #2 1. Please, start Command Prompt as an administrator by right-clicking it and select Run as administrator. 2. Enter this command to reset the network adapter (end with the Enter key): netsh winsock reset 3. Restart the computer. 4. Please, delete these two files: C:\WINDOWS\system32\LavasoftTcpService64.dll C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\LavasoftTcpService.dll (only for 64-bit Windows) KomodiaFix.zip
  2. The following instruction is not valid for Ad-Aware version 11.11. Sometimes the internet connection is lost when uninstalling Ad-Aware 11. If it happens in your computer, please download the correct fix. For 32 bits XP: Uninstall_fix_XPx32.zip For 64 bits XP: Uninstall_fix_XPx64.zip For 32 bits Vista: Uninstall_fix_Vistax32.zip For 64 bits Vista: Uninstall_fix_Vistax64.zip For 32 bits Windows 7: Uninstall_fix_Win7x32.zip For 64 bits Windows 7: Uninstall_fix_Win7x64.zip For 32 bits Windows 8.x: Uninstall_fix_Win8x32.zip For 64 bits Windows 8.x: Uninstall_fix_Win8x64.zip If you don't know if you have 32 or 64 bits XP, you probably have 32 bits, since 64 bits XP is rare. Save the zip file with the fix on a Flash drive, CD disc or some other media you can transfer to the computer without internet connection. Copy the zip file to the desktop of the computer without internet connection. For 32 bits XP: Right-click the zip file and select Extract all. A folder called Uninstall_fix_XPx32 will be created on the desktop and opened. Open its sub-folder called win32. Run the file called uninstall_fix. For 64 bits XP: Right-click the zip file and select Extract all. A folder called Uninstall_fix_XPx64 will be created on the desktop and opened. Open its sub-folder x64 . Run the file called uninstall_fix_XPx64. For 32 bits Vista: Right-click the zip file and select Extract all. A folder called Uninstall_fix_Vistax32 will be created on the desktop and opened. Open its sub-folder x32. Run the file called uninstall_fix_Vista_x32. For 64 bits Vista: Right-click the zip file and select Extract all. A folder called Uninstall_fix_Vistax64 will be created on the desktop and opened. Open its sub-folder Vista x64 and then its sub-folder x64. Run the file called uninstall_fix_Vista_x64. For 32 bits Windows 7: Right-click the zip file and select Extract all. A folder called Uninstall_fix_Win7x32 will be created on the desktop and opened. Open its sub-folder x32. Run the file called uninstall_fix_WIN7_x32. For 64 bits Windows 7: Right-click the zip file and select Extract all. A folder called Uninstall_fix_Win7x64 will be created on the desktop and opened. Open its sub-folder x64. Run the file called uninstall_fix_WIN7_x64. For 32 bits Windows 8.x: Right-click the zip file and select Extract all.   3. The title tells it all and I would also like to bring to the attention of any lavasoft employee reading this that your tech support is rude, not knowledgeable and not helpful. I work in the IT field and some of the thigns they were suggesting as well as customer treatment are horrible. I'll probably just reformat this computer but I want this to appear so other people can know that they are not alone in this issue. The uninstall function did not work properly or did not provide enough instruction to work properly. In my frustration I cannot remember the exact order of events but I tried to uninstall, I was prompted with something saying that it would require a restart to remove the uninstall, I recieved a blue screen, I restarted and have sense been unable to connect to my wireless connection. I have 2 other computers connected wirelessly just fine and the other computer never had an issue before this event. I am unable to do a system restore because I had no previous restore points. The logical conclusion is that the uninstallation process on some level is responsible for this. Before I reimage to factory settings I posting here for any other ideas.
