1. Update/repair/uninstall error

A while ago ad-aware wasnt able to update anymore, i just got an update error every single time. I then tried to uninstall it, but this time i got an uninstall error... And today i tried repairing it, but yet again there was an error...repair error. I have been using the software for over a year and it has been working fine until about a month ago. So, im a bit lost... I'm on windows 7 x64 Ad-Aware 11.rar daknogsystem.rar
2. Slow updates

Hello, I recently reinstalled Ad-Aware to upgrade to the new version. The update after installing the program takes forever to update to the latest definitions. I took longer than 30 minutes, I ended up living my PC on when I left my house today. If I start a manual update, and there are updates to make, the process also takes quite a bit. I have a fast internet connection, over 100 Mbps, so I no that's not the bottleneck. I am not sure if there is anything that I can do to help the issue.
3. Dear support and community, Hopefully someone can help me with the following : I'm using the command line version of adaware with great success. However after moving the installation to a box behind a proxy server, I'm no longer able to update the definitions ... It does not seem to have any way to communicate via a proxy server. I get the following error when running the command : \AdAware>AdAwareCommandLineScanner.exe --updatedefs Checking for update... Couldn't update definitions. Error: Src\DefinitionsUpdater.cpp(65): Throw in function void __cdecl AdAwareCommandLineScanner::DefinitionsUpdater::Start(void) Dynamic exception type: class boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<struct ExceptionHelper::Exception> std::exception::what: Couldn't perform update. Error: -2108 Request duration: 00:01:01.292508 I have a proxy configured in control panel / internet settings and I have also added the environment variable for http proxy .. None of these seem to be used by the update mechanism. 1. Can I get the updates manually somewhere over HTTP ? I could script some wget commands to automate this .. 2. Is there a different version of the command line scanner in the commercial version of adaware ? I dont mind paying if it gives me more ... 3. Is there any way to get the command line update mechanism to talk through a proxy (no authentication is requred, just proxy awareness) ANY help is much appreciated, I've been banging my head against this one for some time now. Allan
4. I have version 11.1.5152.0 and a window keeps popping up over and over again saying there is an update available, but when I click on the download button on download.cnet.com, nothing happens. The download button doesn't work. And I can't seem to turn off the notification setting on adaware...This is very annoying! What do I do?
5. Cant uninstall, cant update

Ad-Aware kept popping up telling me to register, so I decided to uninstall. When I tried to uninstall it said a reboot was needed, so I rebooted but upon power up I had a popup that says "There was a problem starting C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Conduit\BackgroundContainer\BackgroundContainer.dll the specified module could not be found" as well as 2 more popups pertaining to conduit as well. Ad-Aware could not be uninstalled. I then registered the product and now it keeps telling me to update, and when I try the same thing happens. I need a reboot, and after the reboot the same 3 popups come up. Anyone know how to fix this?
6. Does anyone know if the ad aware server is down? I have ad aware 11 free and have been unable to update definitions for five days. Thanks!
7. Ad-Aware won't update

I run Ad-Aware (v 9.0.7) and it informs "A new version of Ad-Aware is available", I click "Update Now" and my browser opens. Under "Ad-Aware Free Antivirus +", I click the "Downoad" button and then another "Download" button and am redirected to Cnet. I click their "Download Now" button, and Adaware_Installer.exe is downloaded. I run the installer, select English, accept the end user agreement, click "Next", untick the options to install the safe browsing module and the option to change my homepage, then click "Next". Downloading and installation takes place, and after a short time it says installation was successful. I click "Finish" and it tells me that I must restart my computer. I reboot, run Ad-Aware and it tells me a newer version of Adaware is available .... and goes around in this endless loop. I've even uninstalled Ad-Aware and gone through the whole process again, but it still shows as version 9.0.7 and continues to tell me a new version is available. Where am I going wrong?

10. Problems with latest update

The Ad-Aware update v10.1.211.3382 froze my system. It installed just fine, but after the required reboot, EVERYTHING froze: I couldn’t even shut down the computer. The system restore brought me back to Ad-Aware v10.0.185.3207 (what I had before this disastrous update.) I had absolutely no problems with version 10 previously. 11. Just upgraded to 9.6 Ad-aware from 9.5.1 (had to uninstall/reinstall). The new version will not update. It gets to various points in the update, but always exits before completion with no error shown. Sometimes, this hangs the program sometimes not. I did a manual virus definition update and now the last update status has changed to 04/01/2012 0149.0921. However, it still will not update. Have been trying for several days. Here are the log entries for the last 3 attempts to update: MSG [2764] 2012/01/06 09:28:55: Downloading file: metafile.dat.lzma size: 37kB MSG [2764] 2012/01/06 09:28:55: Connected: download.lavasoft.com//public/aawemerald/ MSG [2764] 2012/01/06 09:28:57: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [1304] 2012/01/06 09:29:00: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [1304] 2012/01/06 09:29:01: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [1304] 2012/01/06 09:29:41: Definition: failed to download [/public/aawemerald/] MSG [2764] 2012/01/06 09:29:45: Update finished MSG [2572] 2012/01/06 09:31:06: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [2976] 2012/01/06 09:31:07: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [2976] 2012/01/06 09:31:08: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [2976] 2012/01/06 09:31:41: Definition: failed to download [/public/aawemerald/] MSG [2572] 2012/01/06 09:32:04: Update finished MSG [3808] 2012/01/06 09:33:16: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [2496] 2012/01/06 09:33:17: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [2496] 2012/01/06 09:33:18: Extended definition: current version is 0 and latest is 11359 MSG [2496] 2012/01/06 09:33:41: Definition: failed to download [/public/aawemerald/] MSG [3808] 2012/01/06 09:34:02: Update finished There is also this in the Debug log: ERR [2480] 2012/01/06 09:34:49: Extended: Engine loading: Invalid definition file DBG [2480] 2012/01/06 09:34:49: Extended engine is disabled Any ideas?
12. Hi, We suffered a significant outage a number of days ago which required extensive hardware infrastructure re-configuration. This has now been resolved. However, we are receiving reports of a different update issue - Ad-Aware 9.6 clients are not receiving updates beyond 0150.0675. We have identified the problem and are currently working to fix it. This involves extensive recoding of the internal updating system that distributes the definition files to work with the infrastructure re-configuration. Our engineers are currently working on this. Ad-Aware is working as it should - there is no manual workaround to fix this. I will report here when I have more information. Thank you for your reports thus far - it has been very helpful. 13. Can No Longer Update

I've used Ad-Aware for almost a year. Now I can no longer update. I uninstalled Ad-Aware completely with the Revo Uninstaller, then reinstalled. I asked for Ad-Aware Free and got version 9.0.7. Is this the most recent? It still doesn't update. I get a message saying it can't connect to the network. I tried updating from the start menu. No help. I tried stopping the service and checking "allow service to interact with desktop." No help. If I go to C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware, I do not see "AAWService.exe." I do see AAWService, but this offers no compatibility tab. My computer uses Vista, SP2. What can I do?
14. Cant update

I run aaw total. Cant update nor register serial Here is a screen
15. Unable to Update

I am running Ad-Aware, Total Security. I have no idea what version... All it says is this: Program Version: 21.1.0.30 (6/29/2010) (The purchase was on 10/27/2011) I recently transferred the program to a new system. I used the User Name and Password to validate the service. It even gave me the message that this was linked to another computer and asked if I'd like to change. I said yes. Then, when it wanted to update, I let it run its course.... It was taking a while. After the Engine A and Engine B loaded, the above error occurred. This continues to happen even after a computer reboot. Also, I think because it hasn't updated, I am not ever receiving the messages in the lower right-hand corner of my screen, asking if I want to allow or block a program. However, I ask either way, in case the problem is not linked (because of the inability to update) to the above reason.

I have just downloaded the latest update. during the installation process the error message "Ad-Awareadmin.exe"is unable to access the server. check your internet or firewall settings" This is happening on my laptop and desk top machines.
