Well, one thing you need to do is.. disable uTorrent from startup since it is a bad idea to have P2P startup with Windows as they may also cause a huge system slow down.

Also read these instructions:

Help! My computer is slow!

I was just wanting someone to look at the log to see if anything stuck out as bad. I have defraged, and cleared all my files, and even removed programs I am not using. The uttorent in startup is understood. I normally cancel it at startup, but I understand it can be a resource hog.

My computer is not slow all the time, its just at certain points throughout the day, it will raise the cpu usage up over a 100 when very few programs, and sometimes with only email open. I can understand that it being an issue with an internet broweser, as things can happen.

If you could please let me know if you see anything that doesnt look right in the log, I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Hi,

I don't see anything strange in your log, otherwise I would have told you. B)

Also, as for the system speed, I see - at the time you scanned with HijackThis - that there is more than 1 user logged in at the same time. Keep in mind that this causes an extra slowdown as well.

By the way... just to make sure no malware is lurking there, do next please..

* Download Deckard System Scanner to your Desktop.

  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dds.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • The scan may take a minute. When the scan is complete, a text file will open - main.txt
  • A folder (C:\Deckard\System Scanner) will also open which contains the main.txt and an extra.txt.
  • Copy and paste the contents of main.txt in your next reply. (Do not post the extra.txt - only post this when being asked)
