Can not connect for updates

Have tried for about 2 weeks to update the virus definitions but cannot connect...Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? Have Ad-aware 2007 -free version.

Same problem here,

unable to download updates via the program controls or from the LavaSoft site manually.

The error screens says "unable to connect" to the lavasoft server.

HELP SOS

 

 

This error (HTTP 400 Bad Request) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the web server, but the webpage could not be found because of a problem with the address.

If you are still having problems try this:

The Development Team has found the problem setting that is causing Ad-Aware to crash on updating!

 

A permanent fix will be forthcoming but probably not until next week due to the Easter Holiday

 

For now this workaround works!

 

Open Ad-Aware 2007

Go to *Webupdate*

Click on *Settings*

 

Disable: Backup Definition File (make it a "red X" as shown)

Remember to *Save* your settings.

 

This should resolve the problem with updates crashing Ad-Aware.

 

There will be a software update soon to resolve the problem and you can then resume to change this setting back to green after the fix is released (probably next week).
