taffy078 2 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 I (and 15 others) have just had two emails supposedly from my daughter but they weren't. They point me to www.(as above).com. Electrical goods inclusing laptops - cheap! My daughter knows nothing about it. I have A2007 and she has the free version. She also says she hasn't used her laptop for weeks. Is this a Hijack this please. (I've googled and found a post "Is this a Chinese scam?" but that never opens. As usual, your help will be much appreciated. Thanks. __RiP_ChAiN_ 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Hello taffy078, This could just be plain and simple SPAM, but it could also be something larger perhaps. If you like I can take a look at your computer for any malware related problems, though? If you would like that, please follow this next set of instructions. Click here to download HJTInstall.exe Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop. Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis . Click on Install. It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop. Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis. Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log. Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply. DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
