Ad-Aware Ad-Watch Live! VS. avast! Resident Shield...

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I've got one question, according to the title of the topic:

Can Ad-Aware Ad-Watch Live! and avast! Resident Shield (from avast! 4.8 Home Edition) work at the same time, or is there any danger of each of these two applications to take any negative influence on the other's performance while working together in the background?

Ad Aware ver. - Anniversary Ed. 2008;

avast! ver. - as I wrote above;

Win - XP Media Center Ed.

Regards,

Milosz

I have practically the same question.

Is it possible that Ad-Aware AE (Anniversary Edition) - FREE versions's resident (Live) protection would interfere in any way with Avast Home 4.8 - FREE version's resident protection?

I am asking, because I didn't really understand the answer above. Thank you!

The reply in post#2 means that you should disable the real time protection in Ad-Aware.

Just to clarify

@ Bellzemos

there is NO AV - engine in the free version ..

You can run Ad-Aware and Ad-Watch live, without any changes.

@arou402

the AV-engine is only available in Plus and Pro.

If you are using a stand-alone AntiVirus protection, you should only disable the AV - part in Ad-Watch...

and not the complete res.-shield.

Regards

Raziel :)

You mean that there is nothing in the Ad-Aware AE Free version that could interfer with Avast resident protection? Not even the Live protection?

And I didn't know that Plus or Pro have the Anti-Virus protection. :)

Thank you!
