Installing ad-aware AE

7 posts in this topic

I have used Ad-Aware successfully for years, and successfully upgraded and used the

AE addition.

Recently I reinstalled my operating system, windows 2000 professional service pack 4. Now

when I try to run the Ad-aware install package I get the error message 'The procedure

entry point HeapSetInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNELL32.dll'

The banner of the error window displays AAWService.exe. After this message is displayed

ad-aware will not execute, any help will be appreciated

.

what other security software is installed ?

Raziel

Just Norton AntiVirus 2005. But I tried installing Adaware before Norton and it didn't work, then after Norton it also failed. by the way 'kernell' should be 'kernel'.

Any answers, suggestions? I have used ad-aware for years and like the product and would be sorry if I had to download other anti-spyware software. Any help would be appreciated.

hi,

Looks like your reply got overlooked! I'll jump in.

Try installing Windows 2000 SP4 Rollup 1 and see if this solves your problem - you may need to reinstall Ad-Aware once you have installed this rollup. Let me know,

Casey

Since Casey's away basking in the sun, I'll close this thread. PM a mod if it needs to be reopened.
