Ad-AwareAdmin.exe

Recommended Posts

3 -4 times a day Ad-AwareAdmin.exe interrupts whatever I am doing to try to access the internet. I think this was an option I may have inadvertently "chosen" when I paid for automatic updates. It uses a really high level of resources and usually mucks up whatever I am doing online and sometimes hangs the computer for about 10 mins. How do I stop it running, when I try from task manager it usually just relaunches itself a few minutes later.

[quote name='casey_boy' post='116563' date='Feb 12 2010, 11:53 PM']Hi,

If you go into settings and disable all of the automatically check for updates (etc.) options then this should stop.

This isn't the update service - that runs as Ad-Aware services.exe. and only runs once a day (on start -up), and without meaning to sound funny I paid for automatic updates - I don't want to have wasted my money! I think this is some sort of reporting tool.

You shouldn't have to pay for auto-updates, it's included on all versions, including the free version:

If you're running the Plus or Pro version (paid), you can contact Lavasoft Customer Support (link in my signature). They have both email and live chat support.
