This problem was reported to Lavasoft in April: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=29001

And currently we're having a similar discussion here, specifically with AVG: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?s...mp;#entry119839

Lavasoft hasn't yet replied to the original report, but I bumped the topic to include this and Helen Grace's thread.

Also, as a paying customer, you should contact Lavasoft Customer Suppport via the link in my signature. That way the problem gets logged for sure, and if you find an answer, please post back here :D

@electropop2,
ur gonna have to endure some time to fix this which is most definitely caused by leftovers from a previous av or maybe a current installed anti-spyware(ie spybot s&d)-as long as they have real-time protection capabilities u have to uninstall these as well. If none then u cud first try using 'dedicated and thorough' removers(because the regular uninstall maybe left some traces) from avast and eset. If these dont work then uninstall A-A Pro then install back Eset trial(whatever version it was u tried) then uninstall it using the Revo uninstaller(Pro 30-day trial) if this still does not work then install avast and uninstall it again using Revo. Take note that after each uninstall you update A-A then try if the File Protection box of Ad-Watch in Settings>Ad-Watch could now be checked. If it can be then ur half done. Be ready to wait a bit, ur system might 'seem to freeze' when in fact A-A is just LOADING. Your mouse pointer should still be moving and when u place it in the A-A window it turns into an hourglass which means 'wait'. In time your system will return to normal and you now have Ad-Watch File Protection! but wait, now you must use the 'Advanced' mode - I prefer this over the 'Simple' mode which tends to run in full autopilot, and u will have more control over A-A when it has an FP. Please loook at the thread http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=29302 for comparison. Hope this helps.
