V8.3 from download.com NOT English Installer

Question

Hi,
I just got a Popup on launching AdAware v8.2 to Upgrade to v8.3. I followed the link to download.com, downloaded the new version, uninstalled v8.2 nad then tried to install v8.3. I was faced with the first 3 windows written in a language I did not understand (ie NOT English). I was unsure what the buttons meant and so Aborted the installation.
Could someone please post a link to a download of v8.3 in English,
Thanks

This was also a problem from CNET.com:

I've let Lavasoft know so they can take a look.

I have the same problem. I have NO idea what language that installer is in but it's definitely NOT English. The interesting thing is that the language selector indicates that English is the selected language. Very strange!

Hi Guys

This is a small bug in the installer... If you proceed with this installation by clicking "Tamam" with "English" select in the drop down, then the rest of the process will be in English.

What is the bug:
When the regional settings of the machine are set to a language we do not have available, the first screen defaults to Turkish language text.

L S Jeffery,

another thread

http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?s...st&p=120715

describes what happens if you install using the Turkish installer,
even if you specify English all the messages that you get
from the application whilst it is running are in Turkish.

An English Installer would be nice,

Thanks

P.S. I am set to EN(UK) Edited by Helter_Skelter

Hello Helter_Skelter

I wasn't able to follow this link, it only sent me to the main forum.

We already have a fix for this issue, and we will issue a new installer with the bug fix hopefully next week. After we have tested it.

However, I am unable to produce the error where it installs in Turkish as well...

Regards,
Jeff - Lavasoft

Hi LS linuxcity,

I have just re-downloaded the v8.3 installer from download.com (directed via the Lavasoft site),
it has a Timestamp of 18:32:17 06 July 2010. It is the same file I downloaded last week and yields
the same language problem on attempting to install. Is there a link you can give me for an English installer?

Thanks for your help,

Helter_Skelter

Hi,
Having complained it seems only fair to state that Lavasoft have fixed this problem with the installer language and I have successfully downloaded and installed v8.3 on both an XP Pro and a Vista machine.

This will get you the new version.
There is quite a bit of new stuff to configure.
A notable modification is that it does NOT start it's service Automatically in either XP or Vista, hence allowing on-demand usage (to Augment other Anti-virus software).
It works well, finding a virus on my first scan.
Thanks Lavasoft!
