New versions won't install.

Recommended Posts

I've been using the Anniversary free edition of Ad-aware, I've been recommended to update to the latest version. I downloaded the new version. When trying to install it, it tried to remove the old version first. That's when the "Could not access network location" error first appeared. Since then, I wasn't able to use the uninstaller (had to remove all files and registry entries manually). but that's not all: even after having removed every trace of the old version, I still get the same message when I try to install the new one. I tried changing the installation drive, in case there was a physical error with my main drive. That didn't work either. Any ideas?

Try using Revo Free Uninstaller (revouninstaller.com) set on the highest setting and let it remove all leftovers afterwards. Also, you may need to use WICU for the botched installation:
