Uninstal Adaware 8

2 posts in this topic

I use Adaware 8 Free on Windows XP SP3.
During installation of Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 10 Adaware 7-8 was detected as an incompatible Software.

A normal windows deinstallation by System/Software add/remove is not possible. (Windows find no uninstalprogram)

Even the deinstallation with Revo Uninstaler Pro in Forced Uninstall mode did not delete Adaware.

In the next step I cleaned the Registry with Glary Registry Repair.
The Kaspersky Virusprogram did not install.

The Kaspersky hotline insist that remainders of Adaware 8 are left on my computer, which do not allow the installation of the Security Software

Searching the Registry gives no results for "Lavasoft" but following hints to Adaware:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Applets\Regedit
Name: LastKey
Wert: Arbeitsplatz\HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-2-2437969446-1907411925-1736087731008\ Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internetsettings\ZoneMap\EscDomains\adawarenow.com

Name: LastKey
Wert:Arbeitsplatz\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internetsettings\ZoneMap\Domains\adawarenow.com

There were also keys with adaware.cc resp. adawarenow.com in:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Internetsettings\ZoneMap\EscDomains resp.\Domains

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Internetsettings\ZoneMap\EscDomains resp.\Domains

Is there anabody who know this problem ?
Is there any risk to delete this Registry Keys?
Can anything else be the reason of my Problem?

Thanks for help

I have both adawarenow.com and adaware.cc added to my hosts file from Spybot immunization. You might try editing your hosts file to see if that gets rid of the registry entries. Since they're blocked by Spybot, they must be rogue websites not affiliated with Lavasoft. Then if you successfully install Kaspersky, maybe you can reimmunize afterwards if you're using Spybot.
