Hijack Log Results - Would Greatly Appreciate Your Help!

Recommended Posts

I think my computer has been infected with the "Win 7" spyware/virus and I believe that this may be interfering with my ability to properly install Adaware Pro, as I have downloaded and installed it and then uninstalled and reinstalled several times, yet still with no luck getting the program to open properly. Below are the results of my Hijack This scan. I would greatly appreciate your assistance!

If you still need help, please perform all the steps mentioned on the page http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=13639

Is there anything else than the difficulties installing Ad-Aware that makes you believe that the computer is infected?

Note that Ad-Aware Pro includes antivirus and should not be combined with McAfee.

Hi Celia,

Thanks for your response. Yes, I did as instructed with the exception that I was not able to run an Ad Aware scan on my computer because of the original problem of not being able to get it to properly install. The support administrator said for me to post the results of the Hijack scan into the forum and await further direction.

I think my computer is infected with the Win 7 virus because I randomly started getting pop up messages from "Win 7" stating that my computer was infected and then prompting me to pay to download some type of anti-virus software that it was associated with. This seemed a bit suspicious so I did some research online and found that this was indicative of the Win 7 trojan/virus. I ran my normal virus detection scan and it did not pick anything up, so that is when I decided to purchase Ad Aware Pro to see if that would help to identify and get rid of the Win 7 spyware. I followed the instructions for downloading Ad Aware and the short cut appeared on my desktop but whenever I click on it, I get a message that says "failed to connect to service" even though I am connected to the internet. I have repeatedly tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, but to no avail.

Also, since I first began getting the Win 7 notification pop-up messages, the short-cuts to various programs on my desktop gradually stopped working. When I click on any program short-cuts I just get a pop up that asks me to identify which program I'd like to use to open it. So I now either have to right-click on each of the program icons and click "run as administrator" or locate the program in the actual program files folder and do the same thing. I assumed this has something to do with the Win 7 because it did not start happening until that appeared. Now I am no longer getting the Win 7 messages, however all of my desktop icons are still disabled.

I'd greatly appreciate any ideas you may have as to how to go about resolving these issues!

Hi,

Please, post the contents of the GMER log (step #3).

DDS
Save DDS to your desktop: http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr

Double-click on the DDS tool to run it.

When finished, DDS will open two (2) logs:
1. DDS.txt
2. Attach.txt

Save them to your desktop and paste their content into your answer.

ComboFix
Follow the instructions on http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix for installing and running ComboFix.

Read carefully and note the "Disclaimer of warranty"!

Paste the content of the log into your answer.
