Error: "Couldn't Load The Resource Manager"

Question

Hi,

I've been using Ad-Aware Free for some time.
Recently I was hit with the virus, "XP Home Security 2011".
When I tried to use Ad-Aware Free, I received the Error: "Couldn't Load The Resource Manager."

I Restored my computer to a date previous to the infection to get rid of the virus.
Then I downloaded Ad-Aware again and installed it and it worked fine the first try, but not since.
Today I tried to run it again, and again, the Error msg came up.

Note: I also use Paretologic's RegCure and Anti-Virus+, and SpyHunter4.

Why do I keep getting the Error msg when I try to use Ad-Aware? Now it makes me think the virus is still present.

Thanks.

Hi,

When I try to run Ad-Aware I get the Error, "Couldn't Load the Resource Manager", and when I try to un-install Ad-Aware I get the Error, "Can't Un-install because mia.lib is missing."

Please advise,

Thanks.

Hi clue,

I have merged your two topics into one since they seem to be very similar.

Hi clue,

Maybe best that we investigate if any malicious files are still in the computer since a system restore is definitely not a secure way of getting rid of infections.

Please, follow the instructions in the topic Read This Before You Post! and I will move your topic to the forum Help with Stubborn Infections.
