It Is NOT Resolved

Recommended Posts

Same here. I recently posted my issue on another thread. My last update was Jan. 7, 2012 and the most current definition I have is 0150.0674. Is there any hope of getting this resolved? Edited: Just saw LS Andy's announcement that they are working on it. Strangely, my last definition is .0674, not.0675. Edited by OliveOyl

It is NOT resolved and am still having problems getting automatic updates.

The hardware related problems have been resolved and even big signature files should be possible to download. But another problem got visible when the first problem was resolved, a software problem. Lavasoft is now working with that problem, see the announcement by LS Andy:

yup still hasnt updated
says up to date

Here too.

Anyway the entire Ad-Aware update procedure is lame. I have a client that has PCs that often aren't turned on for weeks at a time. After that length of time, there can be anywhere from 300-1000 individual update files that have to be downloaded and integrated. I've seen it take a couple of hours to download and integrate an Ad-Aware update, and I consider that to be patently ridiculous. No other similar program has this issue.

I can't wait to see how many individual updates have to be downloaded and installed when this latest update-server glitch finally gets resolved.

As of this minute all our Desktops and Notebooks are saying up to date. I don't believe that 48 hours later they are up to date. Hope you folks find a solution please.

Hi Folks

I'm still having problems on the machine that had a complete re-install around New Year. It is stuck on update 675, date 6 January. On this machine, I don't even get to the update dialogue. Nothing happens no matter which route I take to do the update.

On a machine where I did not do a re-install, I was getting an 'up to date' report on the update dialogue box until yesterday. Today I got a brisk download and have update 681.

Please will Lavasoft come clean on what is happening

Thanks

Hi howardhx1,

Since your Ad-Aware doesn't display the update dialogue, it is anther problem with it. I suggest that you uninstall and install Ad-Aware again, but maybe best to wait until tomorrow since Lavasoft still is working at their end: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/32085-ongoing-def-file-update-issues-01500675/page__view__findpost__p__132045

I have been on 0864 for about two days. That couldn't be up to date.

Hi bobov,

Do you mean 0684?
It was 0681 48 hours ago when LS Andy wrote http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/32085-ongoing-def-file-update-issues-01500675-updated/page__view__findpost__p__132045

Hello Folks

I'm still having problems with the computer that I re-installed Ada-ware Free on at New Year. Two others are downloading fine.

I took CeliaB's advice and un-installed the New year version (deleting all references in the registry) and attempted re-installation.

I'm now getting an msiexec error 2753 when I try to re-install. After spending some time looking for how to correct my installer installation, I found that this error indicates a problem with the software installation package.

What is going on please?

Cheers

Howard

See http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/32033-any-new-definations-soon/page__view__findpost__p__132288 where one person reports that a later update was downloaded.

I am also unable to get the 9.6.0 adaware free to update. It keeps complaining it cannot access the internet. I have uninstalled and reinstalled on 2 machines (one Vista and one XP) but it still refuses to work. Is there some other setting that adaware needs to fix or that microsoft has introduced.
The software and updating had worked fine for a couple of years before this fiasco.

Is there any way of downloading a complete new definition file?

Any ideas

Hi laybot,

Please, stay in one topic and don't post the same problem in several topics.

Hi bobov,

Probably not. I have informed my contact person at Lavasoft and he will inform the person responsible for sending out updates.

No, it should be at least 150.701. Lavasoft is investigating the problem.
