What free firewall?

15 posts in this topic

Hi Cutty Sark,

Ad-Aware should work with all firewalls, since firewalls should be programmed to handle all types of programs. Of course, all firewalls need to be properly configured, for example to let antivirus programs fetch updates.

Is it some specific firewall you have in mind, or have you experienced issues before with Ad-Aware and firewalls?

I think Comodo's firewall is rather complicated to configure but if you are used to it, it should be possible.

There’s a guide for it: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-install-comodo-firewall.htm

Personally I don’t care for there DNS servers, GeekBuddy or other stuff.

I tried Comodo Firewall maybe 4 years ago, but I uninstalled since I wasn't sure what different settings meant and how I was supposed to configure it for best security. Hopefully that has changed now and I wish you good luck! :)

Hi Smith999,

As I wrote in post #2:
Ad-Aware should work with all firewalls, since firewalls should be programmed to handle all types of programs. Of course, all firewalls need to be properly configured, for example to let antivirus programs fetch updates.
I don't have any experience with that firewall at all.

I personally use Comodo Firewall which is very safe and cool to use it. Comodo Firewall software is the only true firewall protection operating with Default Deny Protection technology to ensure our computer's security. Its security measures for our PC, designed to keep malware, viruses, and hackers at bay.COMODO may have some serious challenge from a program called Privatefirewall it is a free firewall.
But have you used Comodo Firewall together with Ad-Aware 10? That is what this topic is about, it is not supposed to be a thread where everyone can tell what firewall they are using.
