Unable to activate Identity Protection

16 posts in this topic

I am unable to activate the ID protection as it tells me my date of birth is invalid. No matter how many times I try or even if I try going in and re-choosing the date of birth, it won't let me past that. Anyone have any idea how to get past that?

Hi ifarley,

This issue started last week and Lavasoft is working on a fix.

Are you able to notify us when this is fixed?

It has been fixed in version 10.4.47.4163, which were released just before the weekend. If you don't get any message on the main screen of Ad-Aware, that there is a new version available, please download it from Lavasoft web site.

You are welcome :)

I'm glad it has been resolved.

Well, I THOUGHT it was fixed. It let me input my information, but every single time I boot up the computer it tells me I have not activated it. Also, since doing the update, I cannot print from my computer to my wireless printer. I checked the printer and it works fine from my phone, but I'm locked out from connecting with the computer. What gives?

I'll ask my contact person at Lavasoft on Monday about Identity Protection.

Have you checked if printing works when you disable Ad-aware features or even exit Ad-Aware?

What version of Ad-Aware do you have, Free Antivirus+, Personal or Pro Security?

Which Windows version do you have, including 32 or 64 bits?

Hi scrogg992001,

Do you have Ad-Aware version 10.4.47.4163 or later?

Did you use the form http://lavasoft.com/mylavasoft/support/supportcenter/adaware_critical_problem_report to contact Lavasoft support?

If yes on both questions, and it has gone 24 hours (workday), you can send a PM to me containing email address, activation code/license key and other important information. I'll forward it to the support department.

(1) Is this topic apropos for the issue: Registration of Identity Protection is INCLOMPLETE?

(2) With the following ERR: "THE REGISTRATION FAILED! Alerts enrollment failed: SSN could not be found"

(3) If this topic is addressed elsewhere, please direct me there.

(4) IF I'm visiting the correct topic, then from a similar one, I found the following info requested:

(A) As prompted by an Ad-Aware popup stating my Ad-Aware Ver. was out

of date, I just installed Ad-Aware Free Antivirus + - Ver. 10.4.49.4168

( B)ACTIVATION was required the 1st time AFTER Ad-Aware was installed & subsequently

RE-ACTIVATION has been requested EVERY time AFTER the 1st time, when PC

RE-boots & Ad-Aware is initialized

© I have not selected "Remember me..."

(D) I am a US citizen

(E) Are OS & SP # UNIMPORTANT?

(5) ADDITIONALLY, I have some supplemental questions

(A) Being that I have yet to give Identity Protection a limited Power of Attorney, are they visiting

any "proprietary databases", yet? OR are the still mining public databases?

( B) Do you know what databases & their respective field(s) are being selected? AND, what

select parameters are being used to query said databases?

© Are the 3 NCRAs (National Consumer Rating Agencies) data bases being queried?

IF SO, can a previous ID THEFT, within the last year, where in a data block was placed on

my "CREDIT FILEs" (or a facsimile, thereof) from each of the 3 NCRAs, cause a "NULL"

field select for my SSN?

(6) Almost as an afterthought (from Ad-Aware), even though Ad-Aware's icon in the Task Tray has

a \ across it, a pop up message reassures me that I'm still protected...

(7) Please feature here that this scenario occurs after every re-boot of my PC

It really would make my millineum if there is an expeditious solution. Thanks, in advance, for any help to be offered.

Hi yiotta!

I have informed my contact person at Lavasoft about your questions and she has sent them to someone that knows more about Identity Protection. I don't know when there will be an answer.

(6) The red line hasn't anything to do with problems. When you open Ad-Aware, you will see the line above the second 'A' in Ad-Aware, it is just part of the logo.

Hi Yiotta,

Can you please PM me? I will check with the Identity Monitoring bureau to see if the request went through, if it did we will have to check and see why your Ad-Aware is not recognizing the issue.

Kind regards,

Corina

Hi yiotta!

My contact person isn't sure what you mean with this:

(2) It seems that registration fails.

(B ) Since asking for reactivation, it seems that the registration has gone through.

Regarding (C ), note that it is necessary to select "Remember me" for Ad-Aware to remember credentials after a restart.
