I have trojan.win32.Generic!BT

Hi, I cannot get this infection off my computer and I do not understand how to clean my registry.

 

The infection traces are in Desktop\VirtualDesktop\Shortcuts\VideoPreformerSetup.exe file

 

I have the trojan in quarantine but do not know what to do from here.

Hi hootchums,

 

When an antivirus program has moved a file to its quarantine, the file can't run any more and can't do any harm. You don't need to do anything more. Or do you mean that Ad-Aware discovers the file over and over again?

 

Please, uninstall:

Java 7 Update 9, since it's an old version with known vulnerabilities that makes it easy to infect the computer from a web site.

 

Start Firefox and in the address field enter: about:config

Find the item called: browser.search.selectedEngine

Right-click it and select to restore it to the original value.

Repeat with the item called: keyword.URL
