Hi mccurryjm,

1. Did you use the normal uninstallation in Control panel or Advanced Uninstaller PRO?
The first one is the best choice when uninstalling Lavasoft products.

2. Please, start Notepad.
Copy all text that is in the box:

CreateRestorePoint:
CloseProcesses:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Lavasoft
CMD: netsh winsock reset
CMD: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Reboot:

and paste in Notepad. Check that no files have been split on two lines.
Save the file as fixlist.txt on the desktop.

Exit all programs.
Start FRST, please.
Click the Fix button.
Wait until the tool has finished.

It creates a log file, called Fixlog.txt, on the desktop.
Please, paste the content of that file in your reply.

3. Please, run FRST again and attach the new FRST.txt (no need for Adddition.txt).

4. If you want some security advice:
Please, uninstall Java™ 6 Update 17 since it's a very old version with many vulnerabilities that can be exploited by a web page to infect the computer.
Have you installed "All In 1 Search Bar" as an extension to Firefox yourself?
I can't find any information about it.

Thanks so much for the prompt reply.

1 .I actually used ccleaner tools to uninstall web companion, and then scanned the registery to remove residual files (also with ccleaner)

4. Will take your advice and uninstall Java 6 Update 17 (thank you)

The "All in 1 Search Bar" is listed in firefox addons

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/all-in-1-search-bar/

files LavasoftTcpService.dll and LavasoftTcpServiceOff are still listed in windows system 32 folder

the LavasoftTcpService.dll file has known issues with Plex Media Server, so I can't use it until the file is removed

edit: Well so far it's working, I just manually deleted those two files.

1. It's possibly that's why not everything of Web Companion was removed.

4. Sorry, I searched with "1" instead of "one" due to content of FRST.txt and then very little was found.

Yes, now when Web Companion had been properly removed from the "Winsock catalogue", it should be possible to remove the files.

C:\Windows\system32\LavasoftTcpService.dll

C:\Windows\system32\LavasoftTcpServiceOff.ini
