Update/repair/uninstall error

Question

A while ago ad-aware wasnt able to update anymore, i just got an update error every single time.

I then tried to uninstall it, but this time i got an uninstall error...

And today i tried repairing it, but yet again there was an error...repair error.

I have been using the software for over a year and it has been working fine until about a month ago.

So, im a bit lost...

I'm on windows 7 x64

Ad-Aware 11.rar

Hi daknog,

Thanks for the logs. I'll inform my contact person when she is back in the office on Monday.

Hi again,

According to the logs something interferes with or blocks the updater function of Ad-Aware. It's possible that it's Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) or the firewall. Please, check settings of the firewall and uninstall MBAM temporarily to test.

Uninstalled Malwarebytes - Still having issues

Disabled the firewall - Still having issues..

Tried doing a system recovery, but wasnt able to do that, was complaining about antivirus not allowing.

Stopped ad-aware and tried again, but same issue.

Tried uninstalling and reparing in safe-mode, but no success..

So, still not able to either update, uninstall, or repair it...

Sorry, please upload the Ad-Aware logs and system information file again now when MBAM isn't there.

There seems to be a problem with the Windows Installer since you get this error message:

ERROR_INSTALL_SOURCE_ABSENT 1612 The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

Please, follow the recommendations on these pages:

I tried the first option, which helped me to uninstall the software (its something) =)

But i didnt have any patience left to try the other two.

But a huge thanks for taking the time to try and correct something that hasnt cost me anything.

As we say in sweden: Tack & Bock ;)

At the moment i'm good, its almost time anyway to format c: and make a fresh install anyway.

Hopefully that will sort the current issue, right now i'll just be extra cautious and use security essentials until then.

But, I really liked your software when it worked so to speak =)

God fortsättning :P
