Update just wiped my D drive

Question

Just updated to version 12 and my D drive was wiped clean. Tried to run restore, that fails to succeed. What would cause an update to wipe my drive. My C drive (boot drive) seems unaffected. All my files, business files all are gone! Very upsetting. Any way to fix this?!?!

Man I just uninstalled the free version of adaware and it wiped my entire harddrive.

Hi mpre55 and Kriddlex,

I've informed my contact person at adaware software (Lavasoft) since this is very serious problem.

I suggest that you try MPhilips advice and use Recuva, if you don't have a backup: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/34824-adaware-11-uninstall-wiped-my-partition-please-help/#entry151792

Please, help adaware software (Lavasoft) to investigate what happens so no more users loose their files.

Please, collect as much as possible of the logs and other information mentioned in the instructions in http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/33638-collect-logs-for-troubleshooting/ to let them investigate the problem.

Was Ad-Aware installed on the partition with Windows or on the partition that was wiped?
