Adaware Service unavailable!

Question

Hello, I am running Adaware on a Windows 10 PC. As of today, I cannot get Adaware to activate. I have tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling, and keep getting strange messages about Bitdefender having a problem. However, I never (knowingly) installed Bitdefender. Message files are attached.

I am uploading the adaware folder to Dropbox; I hope this works. Link is here:

OK, it seems to be working correctly now, after using the removal tool described here:

https://forum.adaware.com/index.php?/topic/35037-bitdefender-threat-scanner-error-when-attempting-to-start-adaware-antivirus/

I will check back after letting it scan the computer.

<EDIT> Scanned OK; everything is working again. Thanks!

Me too.

Noticed it after I came back to my laptop this afternoon... Not sure how long the Sys Tray Icon has been greyed out.

Adaware antivirus are partially based on the engine of Bitdefender.

@LWJackn Does it solve your problem too?

Not yet. :) Got a message from your FB page to try the repair. That failed with the same error that MHoover posted. So I am moving on to uninstall, removal tool, and reinstall. Will let you know... :) Have to grab my license text real quick before I do. :D

Here's my dump file listed in the error also if you want it.

Thanks for the dump file, @LWJackn.

Have you tried to solve the problem by doing what I wrote in the post that MHoover linked to?

Seems to have fixed it. I uninstalled, used the removal tool to be sure, and reinstalled. It is now running a scan. so I think I am good. :)

Yep. Just got done. Protection Active.

Thank you! :)
