my tool bar and shortcuts disappeared when I updated to adaware 12

Question

Help, I've been a long time user of adaware but today I received a prompt to update to adaware 12. when I did my tool bar and shortcuts all disappeared. It's been over 20 minutes since the update and

still no tool bar or short cuts, I can't access my documents or pictures or anything for that matter. Help!

Hi @dugit57,

Sorry but you've to explain with more details.

Do you mean a toolbar in the browser?
What toolbar and what browser?

Shortcuts where?

Doesn't Windows Explorer work since you can't access your documents and pictures?

It just happened to me as well.

Everything on the desktop is gone. Including the toolbar at the bottom of the screen with the start menu.

Also there is no right click available. The only way I was able to even get to my browser is because it was already open and I had to hit ctrl/alt/del to open up the task manager and open it from there.

*****UPDATE*****

Restarted the computer and it all came back. Restart was really slow. Seems all good now.

@morrisdale, thank you for the explanation and for how you solved the problem.

P.S. The bar at the bottom of the Desktop is usually called Taskbar.
