AdAwareInstaller.msi surplus files

Question

I have version 12.6.997.11652 installed on Win 10 machine as secondary protection.

Running a disk space check notice I have a large number of AdAwareInstaller.msi files in "C:\ProgramData\adaware\adaware antivirus\msi_cache" something like 1.5gb

Valuable space on an SSD

Can these or at least some of these be deleted?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

Probably all but the latest, but to be sure I suggest that you create a new folder on the desktop, in My documents or somewhere else, and move those folders with the .msi files to that folder except for the ones from the last months. Restart the computer and check that adaware antivirus still works and can be updated. If everything seems to be fine during a week, I think you can delete the folder you created, and if not, you can move the folders back.

Due to the holidays I can't confirm with my contact person at adaware software.

Seems to work, (moved off to a secondary drive temporarily)

strangely also seems to make scans quicker, perhaps because there are now less files on c drive to scan.

Cheers

Paul
