Second Hard Disk Not Scanned by Free 12.6

Question

How can I scan a second hard disk with Adaware Free Antivirus? I installed the new 12.6 July 2019 and am running Windows 10. When I click on the "Scan" button it scans only the C drive. When I "Select Options" and choose "Full" it scans only the C drive. When I choose "Custom" and check the second hard disk it still scans only the C drive.

Hi meanmac,

Let us see if the log files show any errors. Please select a custom scan of your second hard disk and immediately after that collect log files according to this instruction: https://forum.adaware.com/index.php?/topic/34799-how-to-report-a-problem/

1. I already show hidden files. 2. The folder C:\ProgramData\adaware\adaware antivirus zips to a file size 208MB and is too large to send. Limit 9.77 MB 3. The folder C:\User\k9mil\AppData\Local\Temp does not contain any Msi* files. I regularly run Windows 10 "Clean Disk" program. 4. Yeah, this file uploaded, PS2a.zip. 5. How am I going to get the  No. 2 information to you? Use Firefox Send? https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2019/03/12/introducing-firefox-send-providing-free-file-transfers-while-keeping-your-personal-information-private/

Or follow post #2 in the linked instruction. It's no private information in the zip file and the link to it can be posted.

Can you in Windows Explorer right-click your second hard disk and select "Scan with Adaware Antivirus"?

Yes, but when I select the second hard disk (F:\) nothing happens. If I right click and select "Scan with Adaware" for either the SSD (C:\) or the DVD (E:\) and open Adaware I can watch the files currently being scanned. Could the content (only music mp3 files) have anything to do with this behavior? The content size is 15.2 GB so I would expect it to take a noticeable time.

Have you selected "Smart scan" i Custom Scan Settings?
https://www.adaware.com/user-guide/running_scans
If yes, only changed files are scanned. Are the mp3 files changed?

Please, check the exclusions too.

Thanks, the developers at adaware software need to see more detailed log files to be able to find the problem.

1. Please right-click This Computer icon and select
Properties -> Change settings -> Advanced -> Environment Variables -> New (under System variables) -> OK.

In the Varable Name field please type: ADAWARE_LOG_LEVEL
and in the Variable Value field and then type: Debug

If ADAWARE_LOG_LEVEL already exists, write down the current value first.

2. Try to scan F: with Custom scan.

3. Please follow the instructions in https://forum.adaware.com/index.php?/topic/34799-how-to-report-a-problem/  but only for the adaware folder this time and upload the zip file to some file sharing service.

4. Restore/Delete the variable ADAWARE_LOG_LEVEL that you created, please.

I followed your instructions to add the debug level, restarted my computer, and performed the custom scan. The log files for the developers at adaware software are in "adaware antivirus.zip" at https://send.firefox.com/download/8a03e1d2d72e9a97/#CDNZ3Ukp3M72QoeieltXnQ

and will be there for another 23 hours or until the first person downloads them. As always, when the custom scan is started, I see the complete scan (file names) of the first drive and do not see the second drive.

Sorry, but my contact person hasn't received an answer from the developers yet.
