Ad-Aware won't update

I have Ad-Aware 6.181 Personal.

Every time I try to update, the details section says, "error retrieving update"

I am positively connected to the internet and I can download from other programs.

The Status says OK.

It goes thru its scanning mode.

I would appreciate some help to solve this.

I have the same problem. Just installed Ad-aware and cannot get it updated.

Ditto - I get the "error retrieving update" message too.

Anyone at Lavasoft know when it will be rectified?

(I believe this same thing has happened in the recent past, October 2006?)

I also tried the recommended method of performing a manual update by downloading the definitions file from http://updates.ls-servers.com/public/defs.zip but this address is not working either ("could not be found" error).

I was able to download today's update SE1B151 at http://www.lavasoft.de/download_and_buy/detection_database/.

It went into a temp folder though instead of my download folder.

I updated via the program's updater after trying 5 times and on the sixth attempt it downloaded a beta file: SE 1B151 BETA. I deleted this file and downloaded from manual download location and correct file now displayed. Go figure?

After 7 days of not getting any help, I figured out that Ad-Aware will not

update Ad-Aware 6. So I downloaded Ad-Aware SE personal and it updates just fine. If anyone is using the

older version of Ad-Aware, unstall it and go for the new version. Griz
