AdAware SE and Vista

We have been using AdAware for a long time and wonder if the AdAware SE FREE edition will work with the new MS Vista system?

Ad-Aware SE is not officially supported on the Vista platform.

 

Since the upcoming release of Ad-Aware 2007 I can not give you a definite answer on the Vista question for Ad-Aware SE since this version will be replaced and made obsolete once the new version is released.

I just got a new laptop (Acer Aspire 9410-2597 with Vista Home Premium) and ran the 1.06r1 version of Adaware, just to see the counts at the beginning before I start adding things to the computer... I was stunned to see 70(!!) Running Processes and over 3000 Process Modules as Adaware started running. The usual is around 20-25 running processes and maybe 900-1200 process modules, depending on the computer & operating system.

 

I got back 7 critical objects (I'd been online for maybe an hour or so) and it cleared those just fine. Still amazed at the number of processess it found... is this normal for Vista, or is it because of a compatability issue?
